Mullett annoyed me so much with 66.  ::) I think Montags may take the mantle off him next week.

THE ROUND OF....

CAPTAIN'S CURSE

11 Captains have played.

Only 3 have scored over 100!

Brendon Goddard in the 90s, while Douglas (79), Ward (75), Wines (74), Watson (66), Mullett (66), Franklin (45) and Stanton (41) big disappointments....
We picked the right Captain (did cop some criticism for picking Cloke over Birch) but aside from that has been a horrible week at the selection table for us...All our emergencies have/will outscore on field players. :(

Somehow Cotchin and Watson have both gotten under 80 and we're still in this game.
The star power of Cape Town still has me leaning toward a loss though.

Wow, horrid round for alot :o. Happy we were able to choose the right player :D.

Bench: K. Simpson, M. Lobbe (65).
Emerg: C. Smith, C. Howard, A. Corr (38).

993/10. Wow, we're actually doing pretty well this round :D. Griffin stepped up as captain and our backline performers have been fantastic this season compared to last. Wingard continues his good form while Westhoff has fallen off :(. If Westhoff fired, an upset could have been on the cards :-X. Although highly doubt that against the Suns unit which continues to fire....

Happy to see Goldy doing well, need Lynch/Jones to continue to step up and come later in the season when Pav/Rioli return, we could have some nice depth there :).

Cape Town Cobras   773   9 (Kennedy, Sylvia, O'Keefe, Bird, Cooney, Garlett)
New York Revolution   1147   12 (Pyke, Gaff, Liberatore)
Prediction: New York could get excited, but the Cobras have the players. Cape Town...

PNL Reindeers   993   10 (Priddis, Jones, Simpson, Grundy, Jones)
Mexico City Suns   1248   11 (Hurn, LeCras, Adcock, Moloney)
Prediction: Not a bad effort from an injury plagued PNL --> But Suns all the way

Dublin Destroyers   1288   14 (Redden)
Pacific Islanders   559   10* (Rockliff, Leuenberger, Howe, Ellard, Terlich)
Prediction: Solid effort by Dublin, and an easy win.

Sao Paulo Pumas   931   10 (Waters, Masten, Minson, Walker, Armstrong)
Prediction: Tokyo have a shot! But the Pumas have the points on the board

Beijing Bears   704   8 (Kerr, Betts, Tapscott, Yeo, Glass, Mayes, Cornelius)
Buenos Aires Armadillos   976   9 (Cox, Boyd, Scotland, Carrazzo, Cross, Warnock)

London Royals   779   10 (McVeigh, Hannebery, Brown, Hill, Young)
Berlin Brewers   806   10 (Grimes, Trengove, Garland, Gawn, Lucas)
Prediction: Tight! Captains failed for both, but Home ground advantage and an in form midfield should see London take it. Not confident though!

Captain: STANTON, Brent
Vice - Captain: HANNEBERY, Daniel
Total  779/10

Very substandard performance so far from the team. Axe may be out this week with emergency players in reserves outperforming regulars.

Injury to Captain Stanton was probably the start of it all. In a very tight contest with the Brewers with 27 points separating us from same number of players including captain.  Will be very tight.

Scott Pendlebury take a bow!

Shame I always seem to play well when the opposition is struggling but when the games on the line I struggle to produce the goods!
