it really depends. Like if the bombers just fired off an email going- yo is this banned, and someone just sent back- nah, sa'll good, get jacked up, then it wouldn't be on the records.

if guilty I think they should be stripped of all premiership points from last year/ this year + non taken draft picks

I agree Zip, we should lose all our premiership points from last year and let it end there  8)

Than Essendon would have a record. Everyone email I've ever sent in my job can be recovered somehow.

Exactly  ;)

There is no spoon...
...or any record of any enquiry about AOD9604, because it never happened.

ASADA have an online service for checking different substances, you can try it out here:
https://checksubstances.asada.gov.au/

If I tell it I'm a footballer, male and athlete, then search for "thymosin", then one of the results is "Thymosin beta 4" - result - banned by any route of administration, both in and out of competition. So, done deal on that one if any of them took it.

Put in "AOD 9604", the only result you get is an ADT booster, which is permitted in and out of competition. But an ADT booster is a diptheria and tetanus vaccine, not anti-obesity drug... And it quite clearly states the following on the search page:

"IMPORTANT: If you cannot find your search term on 'Check Your Substances' that does NOT mean that it is permitted in sport. Please check the list below for an exact match to your search term. If you cannot find an exact match for your search, please contact ASADA immediately.

NOTE: If your search term creates a list below the substances listed may not be related in any way to your searched substance. That is, the list is a guide only in the event you have misspelt your search term. You should carefully check the spelling of your substance and find an exact match."

@Stevo7AFL you were spot on Stevo. Essendon players will be cleared by ASADA who have told them AOD9604 is not performance enhancing. #confirmed

Except it's not explicitly banned.

There are exceptions to the S0 clause involving compounding chemists (which, Essendon could have easily gotten access to) which could render the drug was legal.

There are several legal loopholes for this clause, it would be quite difficult for ASADA/WADA to get anything to stick.

(That being said I hope they can if we did intentionally cheat..)

Sorry to contradict you,but it is banned. WADA has it on it's banned list as from January 1 2011.If it is on the WADA banned list, that means it is a world wide ban.And last time I thought to look,we Australia are part of the world. There are no ifs buts or maybes,it is banned.

Unless the ASADA ok'd it for essendon?

ASADA is a branch of WADA.It was on their list as well.No escaping ,sorry fellas it is was banned.
As dramatic as it sounds, the rest of the world spots are watching this issue. If we let them get off the rest of the world will come down on us like a ton of bricks. This does not just have implications for the AFL,this is world wide.We screw this up we become the laughing sock of the sporting world.
THE SUBSTANCE WAS BANNED.

kilbluff1985

ASADA has said it was only on there Ban list since Feb this year but on WADA's ban list since 2011 so someone has stuffed up

So it's possible ASADA said it was ok back then

It's banned under a clause for non human approved substances which is different and as sid has said there ARE legal ways of obtaining it. This isn't at all clear cut and if it was this would be over by now. But continue going on like you have read more than one article in the paper written by someone paid to create drama.

I have read more than one article on the issue. It is BANNED regardless of who you read or what you read. WADA banned the substance as of 1st of January 2011. WADA say it is a banned substance that is the final say on the matter.
