So we are 2 rounds into the season and have had a little taste of the 2 trades per week. What do you think? Personally I've found that the tension, excitement, pressure associated with making a trade has been significantly diminished. Trades are cheap. I feel less need to get the trade right because it is easily fixed in the following week and the damage is limited. Really detracts from the intensity for mine.

Takes a lot of the skill away from the game imo... I took a risk and started with JJK, he will definitely not be unique anymore due to the Karnezis -> Kennedy craze :(

I mean I guess I'll still have the advantage of getting his scores while others didn't have him, but I think there will be a lot of cookie cutter teams this year

Yea, I don't know what they were thinking this year. You thought 44 trades ruined the game! Supercoach has stupid GAME-BY-GAME rolling lockouts. Brings the captain loophole into efect EVERY week. Also, if you want to do well, you have to check for late changes and green vests before every game and make necessary subs, because if you don't (like last week), you will end up with Karny on the field and Neade/Dwyer on the bench. What if you can't do that for every game?

I'm ok with the change because all that means is a change I strategy, but I think it's more appealing to casual DT'ers (which is the AFL's intention). Die hard DT'ers will hate it because it means that the casual players can easily fix the failed trades they make and reduces the gap in the process.

me

i like it

keeps everyone more involved, and names such as "westhoff" which just weren't previously viable are now getting thrown around at the trade table

yeah i get that its annoying if ppl went jjk from start and now everyones onboard, but u have trades to use as well while they're busy getting JJK in so it definitely still is advantage you

that's the main thing that's hit my nerve, basically encourages teams to be the same; if you have a good smokie, they won't be unique by next week..

but you're right, while others try to get jjk in i guess others might have a couple of luxury trades..

I don't like it, makes the game much more easy and I find it hard to keep figuring out where to use my 2 trades...

Noz

Yeah don't like it as well just ruins the game.

The only rule I like is that you can select an emergency in each position.

Apart from that they should not have change it.

the rolling lockout is great, getting a green vest on the field can ruin your week, I had karny on the field and swapped him out for caffer was a great feeling. Sure its not good if your busy but its good for the fantasy addicts.

for me 44 trades as made the comp not serious i just through trades around everywhere, one of the most important skills is when to trade and that has been taken away. I also have gone to techical and should have kept it simple like my SC and just pick a team I was happy with.

I have called it before but im serious this time, this year Im focusing 50/50 on DT/SC its normally 90/10 but the SC rules are just soo much better. 30 trades is too many but 44 is crazy and rolling lockout is the best solution to green vests.

Doesn't really make the game more easy, just makes one part easier (trade management) and another part harder (trade selection). It might make the game generally easier in the sense that we'll all be scoring slightly more overall, but it's just as hard to win/do well in ranking.

I guess I don't mind it too much because I was always a 'trade hard and trade early' type of DTer so I'm not struggling to find trades - have already planned to use the first 8 as soon as I can.

ttste1

Hate it. I don't know why they would ruin such a beautiful thing.

Ricochet

Personally I don't like it either. By the end of the year we will so many similar teams

chaosAD

It's rubbish, takes all the skill away, the mugs used to burn trades! Now u can do what ever u like who cares u still have two Nek week!

The main problem I have is the lack of excitement / intensity / fear that I used to associate with trading. Its like eating chocolate twice a day. It becomes boring.
