Which trade?

Danger > Moloney
11 (39.3%)
Danger > Premo Mid under 529k (Mitchell most likely)
3 (10.7%)
Grimes > Heppell
14 (50%)

I want to utilize both trades this round as I think there is more reason to pick a player based on recent results, rather than holding out for a player to bounce back, considering the new number of trades this season.

Assuming I'm making a trade regardless, which do you think is best?

I'm leaning towards option 3 as Heppell looks set for breakout year and I'd rather have no Melbourne players in my DT this season.

*My other trade is Karny > JJK (JJK is a lock to kick 20 against my pathetic excuse for a team)

Yeh I think last week was the week to get rid of Danger. Grimes to Heppell looks good though, that's what I'd be doing.

dtvillage

Yeh kicking myself a bit about holding him. Hopefully he can pull out the goods against Port and not lose too much coin. Is it worth downgrading him to crouch next week? Or moloney?

Colliwobblers

can you do 1 and 3.

if not probably 3.

but i went danger to moloney this week, not that i don't rate danger just i avoid a $30K drop in danger and gain a $50K profit on moloney.

thats an $80K profit in one trade, then i am certain to make at least another $100k out of moloney and turn him into beams, and i have $300K in the bank for another mid upgrade in a couple of weeks  for my first mid rook to slow down.

just too good a profit opportunity to pass up for mine. plus moloney should keep it up and score not a lot less than danger.

As for grimes to heppell that is probably more important, heppell is looking good, hard to guage against melbourne but i think he will be a keeper and grimes is going to struggle everyone at melbourne is at least for awhile, cut him loose, great player, huge potential but hard to see it being realised any time soon.

Yeah I can do 1 and 3. But then I miss out on JJK against Melbourne and have to keep Karny in (which also means I'll be fielding 5 lions, not a bad thing against the Suns, but not ideal for thereafter)

Also, I would really like to start off my league with a win. My opponent and I have similar teams but he does not have JJK. If he doesn't pick him up, that would give me a nice advantage in the forward line. However, if I downgrade Danger to Moloney (neither of which he has) I feel like I'll be losing 10-15 points, which could be the deciding factor.

Karny to JJK is #1
Then I would keep Danger purely because he has the ability to go big and save his BE. That first score will only be involved in one price change and then it will drop off. So he might drop 20k this week but he should go back up again after next week
So Grimes to Heppell is my #2

I think none of the three.. But if I had to choose one (and I voted for) Danger -> Moloney (don't agree with it though)

Can you please explain your logic behind none?

Obviously, there is no advantage to banking trades. Why wouldn't we use both trades on the bubble and make the most $ possible?

Grimes was a nice unique for me to pick up at the start of last season. He served me well. However, with Melbourne's current situation, it's fair to say his average may suffer. Heppell on the other hand, although he only started with 78, had a great game against Adelaide, and destroyed Melbourne. It's not beyond him to average 100 this year. Taking that into account, why wouldn't you use the trade and bank $40k, even though they may end up averaging the same?

Similar logic applies to the Danger > Moloney trade

I agree with this, but only if you have nothing else you really need to use your trades on. Yes, it is a luxury to have them, but even as they say; You shouldn't attempt to fix what ain't broken.

Colliwobblers

maybe just me but grimes has the weight of the world on his shoulders he is just 22 and captain of "that" club, how it cannot adversely effect his footy i cannot imagine, where as Heppell is a gun playing purely midfield in a rapidly improving team.

how can no one rate this trade?  amazes me.  Grimes may push on and do well, but i doubt it, not compared to heppell anyway.

danger is a keeper sure, but the trade to moloney is purely a cash grab, and why not 2 trades every week, make a fast 150k off moloney and get danger back in 2 or 3 rounds later, there is a tidy $150K towards your next upgrade. i would not suggest ditching danger in favour of moloney - just see it as a viable cash grab, may hurt 10-20 points for 3 rounds but you profit enough to think the extra or early upgrade elsewhere the cash allows you will make the points up there and probably some extra.

who knows.

good luck whatever you do :)

Cheers mate! I'm going with Karny > JJK and Grimey > Heppell.

I'll be leaving Danger in this round I think. I'm going to miss the boat with Moloney but I'm not too fussed, I've got all the right rooks at this stage who are poised to make me some decent $.
