Thoughts on our draw for this year.
Reasonably happy considering the horror draw we have been dealt the last 2 years. Not the horror start we have previously had with 3 or more winnable games in the first 2 rounds.
Other pros:
Only one trip to Perth and Adelaide.
Playing Sydney on the SCG and only once.
Only playing 1 of last years Top 8 twice
6 Games in Melbourne.
Cons:
Playing premiers twice after finishing 2nd last.
No prime time games but to be expected with our performance. Means only one Channel 7 game for Melbourne fans.
Why do we play Richmond at Etihad and not MCG given I think MCG is designated as Richmonds home ground.

Is this a case if the AFL rewarding us for letting them control some moves eg Fagan and Noble?  Reckon Leppa will be fuming when he sees this draw.

Agree 100%. But with his injuries that probably had an influence on his desire to keep playing, Also wish the best for him,

Some good and bad news for FF from the Lions Training session this morning. Even had a chance to talk to Chris Fagan as well.
Observations from the session
Very little dropped ball during the sessions which was very encouraging. (Comparing to sessions this season)
Positive attitude around the club.
Dayne Beams running very well and talking part in full contact sessions.
Daniel Rich appears to have a new found bout of enthusiasm and is looking good.
Beast Matthieson has added further bulk and has lost none of his aggression.
Hard to gauge Rocky's attitude but doing everything asked of him.
Recruits all settling in.
Archie Smith doing a fair amount of work with forwards suggesting we may go with both Stef and Archie.
Eric Hipwood has grown another 2 cms and now stands at 204cm.
There will be competition for spots which will further improve team.

These are the players currently in rehab group or not taking part in full sessions:
Marco Paporone recovering from surgery to foot and still with a limp.
Jack Frost
Stef Martin - (Took part in some drills but ran laps)
Tom Bell
Claye Beams
Reuben William
Blake Grewar

I know he may be fantasy irrelevant to most but did you notice how Christensen looked today?

Might be a sneaky pod as a forward considering he has averaged around that 100 mark in previous years.

He looked very solid and ran freely completed all drills as well. Appears a little quicker than i remember from previous year at Lions. Looks like he will return to forwards as well as he was training there.

Unless his enthusiasm includes walking on water and turning gatorade to wine I wont consider him haha
