Spite, I must be honest I HATE the practice of basically dishonestly posting the team list. which is what it seems, we did.

we had to know Beams was not playing putting the team up with him in it was frankly dishonest, sure it may give an advantage but that to me is not what sport "sportsmanship" is about.

shaw may have been different if he actually got gastro this morning ? how often do you get gastro? imo pretty damn rare.

happy to get the win, but prefer not to give the multitude of PIE HATERS more ammunition and reason to hate. kind of like winning without any shady nonsense myself.

not a big deal but there is a fine in place for teams that do it and while we may have made a cut off and avoided the fine it is the spirit of being sporting that is the reason there is a fine for doing it and whether we avoided the fine or not the practice of naming a team that is false just irks me.

just my opinion. think we would have won anyway, but now there is the fact we were shady in naming our team to cloud the victory.

just don't think the marginal benefit that might be gained is worth it. Honour is better than victory especially for a club as proud and fine as the pies.

my 2 cents.

Flame

What score are you on Colli?

Spite

I bet Andrew Raines would have agreed with me :P

But I see and appreciate your point. Thanks colli :)

Really? It's the first time I've seen honour and Collingwood mentioned in the same sentence ;)

Nah in all seriousness, I agree with you 100%. In a multi-million dollar industry with millions being bet on games and everything else, it actually hurts the integrity pretty badly to have this happen. But you've got to understand that if there is change, this issue will only go the other way from clarity; they'll ditch Thursday team announcements and teams will only be required to announce the starting team 90 minutes before the game. Then there can't be any of these complaints. I think it's how the English Premier League rolls.

While Beams is big news, nobody is surprised to see Heath Shaw find yet another way to be a late withdrawal and it has hurt nobody because everybody has learned that it's just what Heath Shaw does!

Colliwobblers

Yeah I don't like it.

but apologies for my over reaction, especially to FRAZLER, a little uncalled for my carrying on.  :-[

however I still feel bucks has a long way to go to be a great coach, it may be a little unrealistic to expect to be at Micks level just yet...

he owes me 100 DT points.  ;)

Windigo

i did. jones would have been better but not by enough for it to make it any less shower.

had viney and wines on the field with o'meara, at least did that much right.

beams and danger being what i did wrong count mitchells sub score and that is 2 elite mids for a total of 75 DT points.

season over.

still i will battle on and probably look at watson for danger and cotchin for beams if still injured. pity boyd is injured, no more of these youngsters for me!

i left over a 100k in the bank for this reason, but hoped not to have to use every trade the first round for sideways nonsense.

me

don't give up man lol, the top 1000 probably wont be in the top 10k by the time the year ends

so unlucky with beams - and yes, i hate when coaches/teams are dishonest about their players, i've been flowered over quite a few times like that (eg. clarkson saying birchall was fine last year after getting injured, and kept being a late withdrawal week after week)

main offenders are ross lyon/al clarkson/chris scott from my experiences - never trust a word they say about players injuries/availability/likeliness to play
