Keys were

Dogs applied pressure from start to finish and didn't allow Lions to play their game. The pressure by the forwards was outstanding - Tory Dickson was excellent with 8 tackles

Lower tagged Rich out of the game

The Lions wont be the only good team the Dogs catch out this year.

Oh and another thing. Is there any reason why Raines didn't play? He could have really been used to tag Griffen who had a huge influence running the ball through the midfield.

My thoughts BB - Posted when teams announced surprised to see Raines as an emergency. Thought Beams may have tagged Griffen given he had some run with roles last year then Beams was sub.  Another case of coaching staff taking opposition lightly as I suspect when announced Boyd was not playing decision made to cut Raines.

Wow well that is a big surprise. I think Polkinghorne dropped for him next game is a certainty. Polks couldn't get a touch and when he did he couldn't do a thing with the ball.
