Was not much in the Jack ankle tap. Free kick yes, reportable no.

I'd give him a week for it personally- coniglio didn't go to ground, but that's not the point, ankle tapping is a really dangerous and unsportsman like strategy, you can get injured in so many different ways from it.

He tripped another bloke in the last quarter! Could get points from both incidents?

Ziplock

haha, he tripped another player.... good going jack :P

Jpk 84... ergh, hopefully cracks triple figures :-X
Not a great DT choice, not sure why people jumped on. However in SC he was on 117 8)

His easy draw early was why a few people jumped on. I was never that keen on him and thought Murphy or Jelwood were much better picks at around the same price.

essendon2

JPK --> Moloney
Longer --> Kreuzer
too rash? ???

no way. Longer is a shower cnt

More in the second then there was in the 1st but he could make a case for both. Would still be surprised if he got a week.

It is not ideal but it was a slight glance on the boot which forced the deviation in his kick. Had he taken a full swing at it, then yeah maybe, but it was a bursh in comparison

lolamusi

Whitfield?? Also moloney my boy ::)

Ziplock

whitfield was reasonable when he got near it, but the ball didnt come near him enough for much of an impact.

Barra17

I went with ROK. Pretty happy with that. Started tagging Greene and had a really slow start.

A deliberate trip is a deliberate trip and gets weeks, I thought. You see the reaction throw out of the leg get weeks, this was clearly deliberate from Jack as he was waiting for the GWS player to get into his kicking stride before ankle tapping him. Jack was using his rugby experience to execute the move, and just like Judd's pressure point move didn't actually do any damage, any action that deliberate deserves time on the sidelines.

Will be interesting to see how the obviously Sydney-biased AFL handles this one.

What Jack did and swinging out a leg are two completely different things. I have never seen an ankle tap go to a tribunal so it will be interesting to see how it is handled by the MRP and the tribunal if he does get suspended and Sydney decide to challenge. The hand action was so subtle, and it probably only warranted a free kick. Players get legged all the time in the tackle motion but an ankle tap is a new one.

Ziplock

ordinarily a player wouldn't ankle tap because it's not legal in AFL... jack did grow up playing rugby though, where it is legal, so it might have been a bit of an automatic reaction in that situation. Ankle tapping someone when they're kicking a football can cause so many injuries though, hence why it's not allowed in AFL but it is in rugby.
