Havent heard him spoken about much.

After flipping between Hanely and Hartlett muliple times I dcided to have a closer look at their individual scores last season to find that they both have big standard deviations.

Considering I, like a lot of teams, have many port (6) and brisbane (4) players I'm thinking about going with Birchall for better team balance and more consistency

thoughts?

im sticking clear of birch for now, at his price im not sure how injuries to suckling & whitecross will effect him game.

For $500k+ i want certainty, that the player in question will b a lock for 100 odd.....this year i cant say that with Birch

See how Hawks first few games go, esp with Lake out being injured and maybe bring him in later. Atm he is only in 8% of teams so will make a nice POD.

Do you think that the acquisition of Lake would offset this somewhat?

I think it depends on how the hawks use Lake.

Lake likes to play floating role & run and carry from the back-line (similar to Birch).

How else u got in your backs Pikla - Have u considered Waters, Hanley or Peace instead?

pikla

back currently Goddard, Gibbs, Birchall, Goodes, Pittard, Stevenson (Heath, Turlich)

Previously had Hartlett but as I said he has a high SD. Im weary of having too many port players as I already have 6 and Hartlett will make it 7. Ditto with Hanley and Brisbane players (Rocky, Zorko, Karnezis, Luey) will make it 5 if I take him.

also, waters is a gun but already played and injury prone

As quinny said in another thread, understand your reservation with Brisbane & Port players (I think most ppl are in same position as they offer value & will be playing) - But how many do u think u'll keep come mid year/end of the year?

Pearce is someone I'm kicking myself I didn't put in my team. Before last week I swapped Goddard out for Peace - But put a "stevenson" instead so I could put Franklin in my fwds.....them the breaks I guess.

Thats just it, 5 brisbane players is better than 7 port but realistically 4/5 brisbane players could be keepers compared to 1/7 (hartlett) port players.

Pearce, yeah looked good but already played
