MELBOURNE’S first pick in last year’s NAB AFL Draft Jimmy Toumpas, father/son recruit Jack Viney and mature-age draftee Matt Jones will make their AFL debut in round one.

Toumpas, Viney and Jones will wear the red and blue for the first time against Port Adelaide at the MCG on Easter Sunday.

Toumpas, a classy midfielder from Woodville-West Torrens, was one of the most sought after youngsters in last year’s talent pool. He was claimed at No.4 overall.

Viney was a steal at No.26 in the draft, having been acquired after his father, club great Todd, played 233 matches for the Demons from 1987-99.

Jones’ story is one of perseverance, given the 25-year-old played suburban football, in the AFLQ and VFL before being drafted last year.
The Demons will announce their round one side from 6:20 pm on Thursday.

What surprises me is apparently Dawes isn't playing due to injury, yet Clark is......

Would have thought the other way round

He is still on a 7 man bench, so still a chance. According to melbourne website:

QuoteFormer Swans rookie and more recently Norwood premiership player Dean Terlich is also in line to make his AFL debut, having been named on the seven man bench, along with Sam Blease, Luke Tapscott, Aaron Davey and Jake Spencer.
