Since the Big Bad Berger isn't playing, is Longer worth a punt?. He is playing as the sole ruck, seems like he can rack up the hit outs. Is there anyone else worth it around the 300k mark?

I'm paying a little bit extra and taking a punt on Zac Smith from the Gold Coast

It would be a risk to take a punt on Longer given that he will make way for Berger when he returns.

Berger trained strongly this week but will probably be given a full game in twos for match fitness.  I would expect him back if he pulls up ok next week so Longer no use.  If rookies are playing may be worth benching him for a week or 2 or select a ruck between 300/400k Smith would be a sound choice.

I am torn between Leuenberger and saving a bit of cash with Max Bailey. 20 k difference but allows me to bring Roughy in as insurance.

I was thinking him or Bailey too

I am really struggling on making up my mind when Johnson went into surgery yesterday. I need to make a couple of changes, but have no idea what to do  now. Bailey might free up just enough cash.

Leave Longer in and wait and see what happens... If Leuenburger comes straight back in, well then swap them ..   :o  2 trades each week.

What happens when Longer comes back i guess is what u need to know, yeah we have more trades but i'd rather burn them on injuries through the year than little sideways swaps over the first few weeks.

With Bailey i cant bring myself to pick someone with so much injury history and no real proven run of games

It is a risky move regardless, but for someone in my position it allows me to sideways trade to Leuenberger if he does get injured or Leuenberger kills it, with the back up plan of Cox in my forward line for now.
