"More late night SuperCoach info coming your way, and this time is Sam Rowe who will debut for Carlton.

What a story he's got; battled through cancer, thought this football career was over before it started, had a huge preseason and will make an emotional debut against Richmond on Thursday.

Hats off to the lad."

Great news for him, great story and lets hope he can keep a spot in their 22. Now that he is playing it looks as though i will have all 30 play this week, i'm glad Danger didn't pump out a 150 with my VC!

He got the green vest once in the NAB and i thought that was just odd, when the games in the balance and everyone is tired you'd much prefer a quick impact player to come on, rather than a big tall Ruc/Fwd. So IMO he will be more likely given the red than green.

talls often get the green vest when coaches want to inject a bit more run into the game

it makes no sense to give a fit tall player a red vest

Often? I can barely think of 3 instances where this happened last year, and with Carlton going so tall, its more than likely they'll take of one of their talls to inject some speed.

big question is ....... Lee or Rowe??

Free Kick

Good news for two reasons,

A great fightback by the kid from cancer and secondly he's in my side..

Well played Sam Rowe :)

Rowe any day, not sold on Tom Lee mte

Sabretooth Tigers

Have Rowe at R4.   Maric  Blicavs  Currie  Rowe  with Cox and Ryder forward  plus $201,000 sal cap.  Have actually shot myself in the foot here as Cox and Ryder have already played and don't cover the rookies in rd.1.   Such is life !!!   Fantastic effort and story on Rowe.   :)

Will not be Sub. Bell/Armfield/Lucas have that in the bag. Versatile types.

Is a chance to be subbed off if not firing.

Tylo

Sorry to get off-topic but is there somewhere on the net with all the subs from last year?

Agreed he will be subbed off if not firing. No way a team takes a ruck/kpp in as a sub. That is just ridiculous. Sydney did it with Seaby once against Melbourne and that was just stupid

They need Dennis in the team for pace and as a defensive forward. Played that role quite well last year. This is coming from someone who has been overly critical of Armfield in the past, but he is critical to their structure. I don't think  Bell has been elevated yet, but he is not a kid to come on as a sub. He is a big wrecking ball who wins the hard ball, but not one to provide outside run you want from the sub. Lucas fits that bill perfectly. I see him being the sub.

I am still surprised Carlton would take all of Kreuzer, Hampson, Rowe and Casboult into the game. You also have Walker playing out of the square at times, it just becomes to tall and a crowded forward 50. They would be way to top heavy which means the ball could end up coming out quite quickly if they struggle to lock it in. If someone misses, it will probably be Levi as Hampson is a great back up ruckman and has been crashing packs and clunking marks this preseason. It is a good story, but for the best chance for Carlton to win, they can't carry all 4 and I think Levi is the better pure forward (even though his kicking at goal is questionable)
