Rd 2 = Bombers (Away)
Rd 3 = Geelong (Home)
Rd 4 = Saints (Away)
Rd 5 = Richmond (Home)
Rd 6 = Derby (WC Home Game)
Rd 7 = Brisbane (Away)
Rd 8 = Collingwood (Home - must be one of the few Pies games they dont play in Melbourne :P)

thx for that valkorum, we have the bombers welcoming their retirement village next week then the top two sides in consecutive weeks and 3 of the top 4 in the first 8 weeks. hopefully we only lose 2 of those 3 games and we beat WC then I think we could be doing well.

valkorum

I believe we are realistic chances to beat Essendon, Richmond, WC which would make us 4 and 4 after 8 games.  That would be a good start in my books.

Yes, 4 and 4 is a great effort given the draw we have. If we can take one of those games against St Kilda Geelong Pie and Lions, then I would be extremely shocked.

Did anybody noticed a VASTLY different game plan being played by the Dockers? They actaully played on at all costs, moved the ball FORWARDS at all costs, and tried to play throuhgt the corridor as often as possible. They actually gave their forwards a chance!  Their work out of the middle was so far beyond anything ive ever seen. They actually took advantage of Sandliands ruck taps. The defence, IMO, won them the game though, given Adelaide had only 1 less inside 50.

Most importantly, they left HACK players out of the lineup - Bradley, SChammer, Dodd  - in favour of newbies like Van Berlo, Barlow, Silvagni, Morabito, who stood up and delivered.
Reckon theyll play an unchanged lineup?

valkorum

Not sure if they will play an unchanged lineup, Schammer and Dodd both had good games in the WAFL on the weekend.  I believe Schammer had around 30 touches.

I read or heard somewhere that out of the 31 hitouts from Sandi that about half of them were taps to effect.

schammer was actually quite good first half of last year. but faded after round 11 or 12. i don't think his body can yet handle a full season of AFL but he is still a pretty good player and shouldn't be written off just yet.

Doubt harvey will touch the list now that he has found the 'winning formula' haha.

In all seriousness I think Mark should continue to play  the young guys, never know he could be fighting or the premiership in 4-5 years time :o

Could be a good chance to put some money on Dockers to at least make top 8 I reckon

valkorum

I already did at the start of the season

Good stuff I think you should be ok with that bet, its like $2.60 now to make the 8, I read this the article the other day and they were $2.75, wonder how much tighter the odds will get -http://www.thebigtip.com.au/afl/44-opinion/208-market-mover-fremantle

Fremantle as a whole have done well so for us now that we are second on the table is to make good on the start we have made and get this team to gel.

We still have to play the Bombers (Win) Saints, Cats and Richmond inside the next 4 rounds i believe. If we win 1 and lose 1 of our next 2 games i will be happy.

If barlow, palmer, ibbotson, suban, deboer crowley, haselby and morabito form the nucleus of the midfield to work with Sandilands and stay injury free we might do well this year.

Here's my prediction Freo for flag by 2012. If we play well this season and next we will be in the best position to win a flag by 2012 or 2013

valkorum

If we continue to develop as we have over the next couple of years then our window will start around 2012/2013
