Hey Guys,

Last night, Nathan Fyfe copped a tag from Scott Selwood and still managed to score 80, which in my opinion isn't to bad considering. The question that i have for you is, do you think opposition teams are going to continue to target Fyfe or possibly go after Michael Barlow/David Mundy or even Stephen Hill given they really good and influencing performances last night? Because if Fyfe continues to get tagged over the next couple of weeks and only scores between 80-90 it will force me to trade him out. I believe he is capable of scoring somewhere between 100-110 without a tag. So what do you guys think? Will Fyfe continue to cop the main tag from opposition teams, or will they start to go after Barlow/Mundy/Hill after last nights brilliant performances?
Any comments or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers

Toga

I saw something last night about Fyfe's disposal efficiency being absolutely shocking, so maybe teams might start to look at tagging those guys that are using the ball a bit better in coming weeks. So might be able to run free a bit more and knock up some big scores! 8)

Looked very good at the start of last night's game, was spewing I'd taken him out at the last minute to begin with but ended up getting a decent but not fantastic score..

Thanks a lot, yeah i was listening to the radio last night and those guys were saying his disposal efficiency wasn't great. After last nights performances from Barlow and Mundy i reckon teams might go after them a bit more. In my opinion, Fyfe could potentially score between 100-110 if he didnt get tagged by opposition teams. Although, considering he did cop the tag from S Selwood who is a fairly good tagger i wasn't too annoyed with Fyfe's score of 80...

Mundy/barlow are a bit more inside mids than Fyfe I think, so I wouldn't be too worried about tonight.  Fyfe will smash the weaker teams.

First game of the year have faith.

I wouldn't be concerned at all mate. Scooter is a very good tagger and given the displays of Hill, Pearce, Barlow and Mundy I would not be surprised if teams look to lock down on then first. Taking a positive outta this - 80 is not a terrible score when you take into account the attention he was getting and the fact that it will probably rotate between Freo's mids most of the year...

yorgis

walters, hill and pearce will warrant tags after last nights' showing

Windigo

Keep the faith, you got him in for reason. Hold tight and get focus on getting the best rookies!  :)

Yeah Mundy and Barlow definitely are more inside mid players than Fyfe. They were everywhere though last night. I'm not to worried about his score of 80, in fact if someone told me Fyfe was going to get tagged at the start of the match i would of thought he would of scored something more like 60! Fremantle play the Western Bulldogs in round 2 so it will be interesting to see which players they choose to tag and ultimately how Fyfe ends up going!

Yeah i agree, Scott Selwood is a great tagger so for Fyfe to end up getting 80 really isn't that bad. The thing that will help me decide to trade him in the next couple of weeks is if he doesn't get tagged and still doesn't go very well, because he can't afford to not go well when not getting the tag...

Freo play the Bulldogs next week.

I went back and looked at what tagging jobs were done. From what I can tell...

Crowley went with Griffen
DeBoer went with Boyd

Cross went with Barlow
Picken went with Hill

I would expect this to all be quite similar this time around.

An article in this morning's Age newspaper reports that an incident involving Scott Selwood being hit behind play is being reviewed by the MRC.  The only two Fremantle players in the vicinity at the time were Fyfe(who was being tagged by Selwood) and guess who?  Yes, little Hayden.  Could make matters interesting if Fyfe cops a couple, although it doesn't sound like there was much in it, and I don't remember the TV commentators remarking on it at all.

I think Scooter went down to get Balla in strife. Nothing in it apparently.

Just on tagging Fyfe.. It didn't exactly work did it :P

Ballantine is the one that will be looked at, he's the one that runs in and makes contact.

Thanks a lot for that! Hopefully everything stays the same this time around!

Yeah i did hear about that on the radio last night actually. I'm pretty sure they said little Hayden Ballantyne was the culprit. I highly doubt Fyfe had anything to do with it. Hopefully i am right as well!
