Not making excuses for Dangerfield, just pointing out that for 100 years players have had time at stoppages to catch their breath, now suddenly they don't ???  stay in denile I don't care but you can't just ignore that this could have bad consequences!

Didn't Zip say that the ball used to be in play 70% of the time and now it is closer to 60%? Wouldn't that mean players have more time to catch their breath..?

Sure twenty odd years ago the stoppages were much quicker than recent years, but they also took time when kicking in and after marks/frees without the umpire calling play on, it's the idiot Demetriou trying to make the game how he wants but that's not up too him, the Coaches should be able to play how they see it, that's where tactics come into it

Football has had a few changes in game play and there is nothing wrong with that, I keep coming back to the last two grand finals, which Demetriou had almost nothing to do with how they were played he can't take any credit from the teams, coaches and players that made two great finals

If there were never any rule changes we would still have a 19th and 20th man - that's how it was when I started playing

Im not saying I agree with all rule changes but the changes we have had over many years have created todays game that you love so much

i know tbag well enough trust me and while he is not a sook, all this from an "outside" perspective gets a little much at times, every second thread i see involves tbag talking Adelaide up and others down or others talking Adelaide down or tbag down  ::)

you'd think one thread for it would be enough not half the ff forum....

Melbourne is the centre of footy, games need to be in Melbourse, get stuffed ya muppett! I turned off the footy show after this!

I have been  forced to watch Marngrook for the last 3 seasons (not sure on spelling) but you know what? Its actually pretty good

The round 1 fixture this year just underlines how rediculous management of the AFL has become..

Grounds not being ready underlines the $$ factor at all costs of how the AFL is run...once that is pissed off, AFL will be half decent again for all the old school fans that remember how good it was - pre Demetriou

For some reason I pick up Lismore TV, I know people that live 50kms closer to lismore than me and cant pick it up.

Usually when the crap Lions or Suns are playing, I can turn over and watch a decent game, I message me mates and they go bananas because theyre stuck watching crap whilst Im watching a game at the G.
