Hi all,

This is a tough one as I think both have the right ingredients to go large, Goddard will no doubt want to impress and a NicNacless Cox generally scores very well.

Thoughts? Thanks!

Go with cox. Who do you have that's not playing though to use the loophole?

lukebomber

I'd be going for cox should score well. This might be a stupid question, but wouldn't you need someone not to play for the loophole? With it being round 1 i'd assume you'd want all your rookies playing the first game....

Ricochet

I always allocate 2 trades every year to fix up rookies in rounds 1 or 2. So with 30 this year I can't see any problems with starting a rookie that won't play. I'm looking to use the loophole with my rucks atm in Currie/Daw.
Out of these two i would pick Cox. But no Dangerfield??

I am putting it on Dangerfield as well  Was between Danger and Cox and settled on Danger,

i'm a little confused..

The only non starting player people should be considering is crouch. I didn't think the captain loophole would work because the adelaide game is before the eagles game..

If you put the VC on Cox and he goes big, you would need a non starter AFTER the eagles game to put the C on..

EDIT: ahh i just read above you would have the currie/daw combo, better hope their both not named!

If you put the VC on Cox and he goes big, pick a non playing rookie (anyone really, doesn't matter who) and put them on the field with the C on them. Like if i had Cox, Maric rucks i would put Maric on the Bench as emergency and then put a non-playing ruck on the field with the C on him.

If cox fails, play Maric and put the C on Ablett

haha yep thats my plan ;)

Ringo

With a rolling lock out you can bring a non player onto the field and put the C on them.
eg Danger goes big 150+ if Rowe is not named then I name him as second Ruck and put C on him.

Need to do sums though before final decision.
Eg Danger as Vice Captain 300 points + 0 for Rowe = 300
Ablett as Captain say 240 points and Berger as 2nd Ruck say 80 points = 320pts so change not worth it.

Hope that explains it a little better but to use the loophole you need to be sure it is for your benefit as explained above,

But you'd also get Burger's emergency score

Yeah I understand how the loophole works, but to do it in this split round 1 your guessing who wont play the following week.

Using your example of Rowe, who's to say he or all your other rookies wont be named? then the only way out of it is to deliberately swap a named player for another player who isn't named. Is it worth deliberately picking a non starter next week for the loophole?

We can still freely trade next week though
