with kommer & the bombers playing tonight can someone please tell me if mitchell is eligible to play for port, ived searched every flowering thing, even an interview with him stated that he needed to be upgraded on that tuesday, but he wasnt. Is he eligible or not?was he upgraded prior to that tuesday?no damn site anywhere clarifies this 1 way or the other. If hes not eligible i will take the bird in the hand(kommer)over the 2 in the bush

He hasn't been upgraded as yet, however as he will be replacing a player on the long term injury list (Salter) so can be upgraded at any stage.

It would be a surprise if he wasn't upgraded and named in the Round 1 team.

jimmytigs

thanks mate will keep him in

Ricochet

Yeh he should get upgraded next week. If not, there will be other options

Kommer will only average 50ish at the most as a forward pocket. I don't think people should jump the gun with him because he could be very similar to Harry Cunningham from last year. Not high scoring potential and unknow JS. I'd wait for Kane Mitchell and even if he doesn't play there is a bundle of options in the mids. Also Leroy Jetta wasn't named as an emergency because he was 100% was he? I reckon the bombers would rate him higher than Kommer.

ended up going with b.goodes/mitchell/omeara/kommer/viney so i got em both, with gaj/swan/pendles/cotchin/murphy im happy, have vlastuin & 4 premium dpp backs to compliment goodes, but when dwyer didnt get upgraded i decided flower the m/f strategy for this season

He will average more that 50! I think 65-70 which is more than good enough from an m10. He doesnt only play forward pocket, he runs through the middle a bit as well. He has definitely done enough to secure his spot beyond round 1 too

Didn't Essendon have 43/44 players available? And Kommer was named as a starter......I think it'll take a few bad games for him to get dropped, after his nice debut.

most Bombers supporters don't rate Jetta highly at all me included i think Kommer will push Davey or Jetta out of the best 22 if he can be more consistent then them all he has to do is do the basic things well which is something Jetta often fails to do

I was really impressed with kommer, I really dont think his scoring reflected him impact.

What do we think, is 70 a pass for Kommer? Had him on the bench as emergency so I could start a non playing rookie to get his score.

That would be crazy Ric? loosing 30-50k to have maybe 5-15 points? Crazy man! Crazy

How would you justify this move?

i don't think it's wise to have any non playing rookies round 1 if possible like Couch last year

Because its a safe 70
What happens if Wines, Jones, O'meara all get vested or struggle to get 60 and Mitchell doesn't get elevated.
I know its unlikely but look what happened with Crouch... We all think he should play and is a gun but didn't fit into Crows best 22.
I always put away a few trades for fixing up rookies in rounds 2-3 anyway so not too worried about burning one trade
So yeh just asking if 70 is enough for a mid rookie?
