French Open Day 3

Ive got through the Mens, had a quick look at the Women's and nothing standsout as being even worth looking into.

Ymer vs Satral
Ymer @ 1.6 on Crownbet
Both players had upset wins in Round 1, however I see Ymers win over the experienced claycourt player Martin as a lot stronger than Satral over Lucas (Im just here for a payday) Rosol. Satral is a bigger serving player while Ymer is a more all rounder. The form coming in has been similar with Ymer getting a good win over Escobedo and pushed Berlocq, while Satral’s win over Rosol is his first on Clay this year. I do not expect an upset in this match.

Otte vs Djere
Djere @ 1.68 on Sportsbet
Otte’s win over Krueger didn’t surprise me, but Djere is a step up in quality. Djere has beaten Donskoy, Troicki, Verdasco, Gombos, Klizan and Lorenzi in the last month. This shows he is in great form. His win over Becker was also impressive given Becker had momentum and he was able to wrestle that back.
Otte is not without a chance, but odds should be 1.30ish IMO

Jarry vs Popko
Popko @ 2.7 on Crownbet
The odds on this match confuse me slightly. Jarry got a retirement against a solid clay courter so you cannot read into that much, his leadup has been in tougher tournaments, but he hasn’t really done all that well. Popko on the other hand had a massive and comprehensive win over Rameriz a good clay court player, his leadup has been in some Uzbek challengers in which he has performed fairly well and is coming in with confidence. Ill take him on as the outsider as I think at worst he should be evens

Diez vs Sousa
Sousa @ 1.6 on Luxbet
Sousa is outstanding value in this match. Diez has struggled so far on the clay court season and his only wins of note were a month ago in Barcelona, which is a faster type clay court. Sousa on the other hand has a title and multiple wins under his belt.  Both players had expected wins in Round 1 over Lacko & Whittington respectively so im not reading into that much. Sousa looks pretty good value.

De Loore vs Gojowczyk
Gojowczyk @ 1.83 on TabTouch
Once again I feel that the bookies are under estimating Gojowczyk. De Loore was not impressive vs Chen only scraping through because he was the better player. Gojowczyk won’t let him off the hook like Chen did and he will need to improve massively to get the win.

Copil vs Ivashka
Copil @ 1.51 on Crownbet
Much like R1 Copil is pretty solid value. He is a much better player than Ivashka. He has beaten him in straight sets already this year and I do not see anything that changes this result. Ivashka could steal a set, but Copil should win.

Novikov vs Quiroz
Novikov @ $2 on TabTouch
Novikov IMO is a better player than Quiroz, however he is predominetly seen as a hard court/Grass specialist while Quiroz is more at home on the Clay. Novikov had a very easy win in R1 last night, while Quiroz had to battle out a 3 setter with Setkic. The 1 day turn around and less time on court leans this towards Novikov and given he is the outsider its worth a go.

Janvier vs Ruud
Ruud -4.5 @ 2.05 on Luxbet
Ruud is one player that I am expecting to qualify and this is a match he should win very easily. The Handicap is set at 4.5 which I think is a little light given his ability to put multiple breaks in per set.

Ceccinato vs Caruso
Caruso +4.5 @ 2.1 on Sportsbet
I do not expect Caruso to win this match, but I do think he has a chance to win or steal a set. Given his first round performance I see no reason not to back him in to perform again.

Multi
Djere
Sousa
Copil
Novikov
@$7.9

Still worth picking your own line at $2 and taking power with that even though it's gonna be shorter

Last week Ladbrokes had the Bulldogs at $2.20 and because I was confident that the match would be close I doubled up with a bet on Geelong 1-39 @ $2.35. Could do similar this week as it would be long odds (well $8.50 to be exact) that Geelong get blown out at home by 40+.

Ill have a look, but i really rate Sousa on clay.

Was a difficult night with some poor picks and tight losses.

Mens start later so I will look tonight.

Don't like Sousa at the odds, think they are pretty much bang on him being a slight favourite, expect him to win, but really could go either way.

On the womens I like

Kostova
Jabuer
Errani 2-0
Van Uytvanck
Mattek-Sands
Hradecka
