Is having 3 starting rookie defenders the way to go this year?

What the title says, I see some people having backs like this: Goddard, Shaw, Gibbs, Goodes, Vlastuin, Pittard (Stevenson, Terlich)

Is it a good way to go, it allows you to have a prem at MID 5 or a preimum FWD 4 or 5, some people are doing it, id prefer it more than having more rookie mids if that makes sense

What do you guys think?

i have nooooo idea, but that's how my side is so i'd currently say it's the way to go  :)

I reckon it is, there's enough back rookies this year for it to be done comfortably and most of them have scored pretty well in the nab cup

Lack of FWD rookies makes this setup the best way to go.

players like pittard, stevenson and goodes look almost certain to start rd 1 and have great scoring roles for there clubs. All are experienced footballers, not a 19 year olds entering his first season of professional footy. Then others like vlastuin, docherty and terlich also look like solid options. Due to the lack of forward rookies a lot of teams have gone the 3 starting rookie defence.

yeah that's it. the more i read/watch the more i'm convinced the defenders are almost certain to be named most, if not every week and there's some good players down there.. on the other hand the FWD rooks extremely hard to predict. i'll be loading up on the back rookies

I think this is a great way to setup your team. There are a ton of great back rookies that will all play, and going with 3 premiums and 3 rookies frees up a ton of cash to help with the lack of forward rookies. Great way to structure your side IMO

Thankfully at least 1 line has depth in rookies. I'd hate to see my team lined up with mid-pricers because no rookie looks like getting a game. Yes, definitely go the 3 or 4 starting rookies in defense and spend it up in the forwards.
