Who will score more?

Chris Newman
Michael Hibberd

LMA12

Both guys seem to have done quite well in the preseason. Both are around the same price bracket.

Newman going at 1.07 points per minute over his 5 games

Hibberd going at 1.49 Points per minute over his 4 games

Are Hibberds injuries a big enough deterrent for you? Played 9 and 13 games in the last two seasons, while Newman has missed 7 games in his last 6 years of footy.

Also remember the teams these guys have played against this preseason. Essendon have played GWS, Richmond, Bulldogs, Collingwood.

While richmond has played North, Melbourne, essendon and Hawks and dogs.

Should also mention that my backs currently look like this.

Goddard, Gibbs, Heppell, Newman/Hibberd, Stevenson, Pittard (Goodes, Terlich)

Hibberd would be another rd 13 bye player.

thoughts?

I'm in a very similar situation. I'm leaning towards Newman because he is proven and he is movng to a wing/midfield. He is past his prime be he won't receive a tag (saved for Cotchin, Lids and maybe Martin) so I think he is a reliable option.

The only question mark is his current fitness. Supercoach Gold has an injury cloud from a corkie he received but I haven't seen much elsewhere to back this up. I'll watch closely.

Good luck.

Personally I don't think that a corkie will keep him from playing round one, he has til thursday week so thats not really an issue to me.

Corkie is not an issue at all. He played out the game that he got corked in and played again on the weekend just gone, although he was very quiet
