JOURNEYMAN Ben Hudson will be elevated to Collingwood's senior list on Tuesday, meaning he is a near certainty to add to his 161 game AFL career.
On Monday the Collingwood website revealed that Hudson would fill one of two positions the club has reserved for nominated rookies.

Can someone clarify the rule with this rookie upgrade deadline.

I know it is tomorrow but is it for ANY rookie upgrade prior to round 1 or only for nominated rookies (those who have an extra spot on the list).

For example Goodes will obviously need to be upgrades today/tomorrow as he will fill a vacant spot but Mitchell will be promoted to fill a LTI so can the Power wait until a later time?

During the season rookies can be elevated at any time if a main listed player is placed on the LTI list. Also, in the past all teams were able to upgrade one rookie after the half way point of the season. Not sure if that is still the case but I'd imagine it is.

Nope, I highly doubt Orren will even play unless Maric needs a rest or something. Think Maric will still be one of the best ruck options available. 8)

Yeah I agree, if he plays that sweeping half-back role he will be a great option imo. 8)

Yep Newman is definitely one to consider! Playing off a wing he has looked very good!
