Smashed the practice match yesterday (yes I know it was a practice match).

BUT, he is a number 1 draft pick. He has the ability to punch out a massive score. I don't care if he was floating across half back all day, I hope he was and continues to do so as it only helps his scores.

BUT... It is Jack Watts and risky.

Thoughts?

I think there are a few better options around. Personally I'm going with Heppell. If Watts keeps running around half back there's no doubt he'll start to cop a tag at some stage.

watts isn't cheap and he isn't cheap for a reason. Im happy about this as its going to turn many people off and he will still be a unique pick. He's a good player with elite kicking efficiency and racks up many rebound 50's.. you will still get inconsistent performances, and melbourne are going to be on the end of a few beltings, but having said that, Im sure watts will take another big step forward. Personally, I think he may end up being in the top 6 scoring defenders

Agree with Hank, I think he increase his average to 90 plus.

PS your title should have been "Watt do I do?!?"  :)

hahahahaha puns never get old. For a bloke to average 85 and to have an averge season is bloody good. Should be set on his role now and hopefully pump out some great scores

colmullet

i had him locked and loaded for ages but found the cash to grab Duffield.....i think he will outscore Heppel and a great POD, will have the odd shocker but also will have the odd massive game to

quinny88

Just be prepared for a rollercoaster ride if you do jump on. I think he can average 90+ but there is gonna be a lot of 50's along the way

dmac07

Will be a rollercoaaster, will dominate some games, but as soon as he does, team will tag him, and I don't see him as being tough enough to break a hard tag.

Hank2011

15 of the other 17 teams are going to back themselves to beat Melbourne and wont worry about "killer" ...... Ie, kilowatt. He's not super dangerous and won't tear teams apart but he will score well in SC because his role now is about intercepting opposition entries, rebounding from 50 and he has excellent efficiency. All ticks for SC scoring

He's 6ft 6 Who's gonna tag him??

Marstar

If the ball is back there all season all the more chance for him to get it :P

Gutt call that one.

He is the most un imposing 6ft 6 bloke in the game. Dont think his height is gonna stop him from being tagged out of a game

Yeah I think smaller forward taggers wouldn't worry about him being so tall, he doesnt exactly throw his weight around or take a lot of contested marks.

charliesheen

Watts is a decent pick if he fits in with your structure.

I'm not sure I would move heaven and earth to fit him in though, but I do think he will do well this season.
