This was a very tough pick, was tossing up between 3 top young point guards but have decided on taking... Damien Lillard

Kid is a ROY lock and is having an outstanding season. Take a look at Lillard's rookie stats vs Irving's rookie stats
Lillard 2012-13 stats: 19ppg, 6.3apg, 3rpg, 43%FG
Irving 2011-12 stats: 18.5ppg, 5.4apg, 4rpg, 46%FG,

So going by that, I can't see why Lillard can't challenge Irving for the no.1 PG spot in the future. He has the clutch gene, got a great outside shot, has great handles and can find a team mate. Also won the Skills Challenge in his rookie year which says something about the kid's talent.

Pick 2... Kenneth Faried. Love this bloke, he is a huge reason as to why the Nuggets are now contenders in the west. Averaging a double double and also a block  + a steal per game, this is a guy I want on my team. He turns up and puts 100% in every night and his hustle is awesome. He is only in his 2nd season so I expect some great improvement in the next few seasons and can realistically see him being a top 3 PF. Brings some energy to my side that I can count on for great defense, some dunks and awesome rebounding.

Like Lillard here, obv ROY, won't be better than Kyrie but will be top 5 PG.

Taking the 6'10'' Italion Stallion Danilo Gallinari.

Guy can be a 1st or 3rd option on different nights, putting up 16.2 ppg, shooting 3's at 37% this season with a 16.8 PER, mega elite defender who can guard the 2, 3 or 4. Will play a huge role on this team in guarding the opponent's best wing and can spread the floor on offence as well as being very good at taking the ball to the rim and earning trips to the FT line.

Will also play as my 2nd option in the clutch when Kyrie gets doubled:

Is it?  :o

Can't believe we are actually mowing down the rounds unlike the other drafts we've done...:

The guy is still young and that trade Miami did to get the big 3 really shook up his progress a bit, but at 23. The potential is there for him to dominate the floor is there, he has the tools, just maybe the adjustment from being a college powerhouse to the NBA was too much for him early...

MICHAEL BEASLEY

PG: Derrick Rose
SG: Eric Gordon
SF: Paul George
PF: Michael Beasley

Beasley makes me want to puke. Tweener who has struggled at the elite level.

Jay

Yeah Beasley is a bust I'm afraid. Never seen so much talent gone to waste - had superstar potential...

So we draft 5 benchies too? Great, will seperate the men from the boys.

gossiboy

Oh man you did not just take Beas...

PER gone down every year he's been in the league: 17.2, 16.1, 15.5, 13, 10.8 (league average = 15) on a cancerous 46% TS, a horrible 87 offensive rating and 108 defensive rating as well as 3.4 turnovers/game and had -1.3 win shares this season.

Also, the usg % of your players:

Rose - 30.5%
Gordon - 29.4%
George - 23.7%
Beasley - 27.5%

That's 3 guys with extremely high usages and one with a high usage, means that all 4 of your guys need the ball in their hands. Gonna be a train wreck.

The rest of the team is great, but the Beasley pick just kills that team. A mix of perimeter shooting and an ability to drive.

Beasley kills any team

#146
Too be fair he did have a good year when he averaged 19 points (top 20 in league) and played & started every game he was available for Minnesota.

Whose to say the Beasley can't work off the bench for my team. Come back to this in 7 years when he doesn't play for a shower team for once.

Beasley likes to shoot and he could be a good two-bit player off the bench, defense is putrid and he is lazy, but he could flick the switch and actually get with it in the next 7 years. You've gotta take that into account.

- Knew I would cop shower for this pick.  ::)

Holz

usage:

Harden 28.5%
Curry 26.1%
Davis 21.7%

liking that spread. Harden is 18th in ussage and curry likes to shoot but thats why i went with davis as he doesnt need the ball.

Harden is actually 11th in usage mate...

What surprised me is that Kevin Durant although being the best scorer and the best shooter in the world (yes he is a better shooter than Curry, Holz) is not even in the top 5 of usage. NBAstuffer has him at 6th going at 30.1% :o

Reason why I took Lillard is I want Durant to be the main option when possible and Lillard's usage is very low for a PG going at 24.2% ranking 58th overall and there are 12 higher usage PGs in front of him INCLUDING the other 2 PGs I was considering for my 3rd pick. This made the decision relatively easy.
