will cheer for good advice.

first post, played around with it for the last couple of weeks.

opinions appreciated.

Knowall

187 too much in bank

Hanley to rookie
Lonergan (know nothing of him) to Ablett

Now you have a solid midfield and the best captain option.  At the cost of a defender who will likely score around 90-95

if you do that i wouldnt hesitate to give you a 9.5/10

My team: http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,74310.0.html

Colliwobblers

Great DEF - maybe too great, 10/10

Poor MID - maybe too poor, the first 3 are great but you will suffer HUGELY in scoring to teams with 5 and 6 elite mids from round 1. You will NEVER make up the lost points. 4/10

Super Ruck - 9.5/10 Hawks have tough start and Maric is better

Great FWD - maybe too great, 11/10

ADVICE.

Downgrade Martin to karnezis or varcoe.

Downgrade Walker or Hanley to again a mid priced option. whatever you need in order to turn one of your mid rooks into

1. Ablett - if that cannot be afforded kennedy or JSelwood or Watson or Jack or even Fyfe.

Great team just think you are heavy in the fwds especially and a little in def also, and this is killing your midifeld.

don't let the rooks and theri potential to earn you cash in the midfield override the fact most of your points are scored by elite mids.

8/10 guns and rooks great picks great premiums nad great rooks. just the wrong balance for me.

Love this team, unique structure and lines.

Big kahunas for not going with Ablett, you need to hope his first 10 rounds average 120 or he gets injured for this to reap dividends.

Not sold on D Martin, cannot see him averaging much more than 90ish or playing more than 19 games, fear he'll do something silly.

Agree the $187 is too much, I think you can get Karnezis for Neade with this. 9.9/10.

Hope this helps and if you could give your two cents worth to my team that'd be great!

yeah cheers knowall, advice taken on board.

thanks a lot colliwobbles. I didn't really consider the thought of loosing points to other teams due to not having enough elite mids, was just thinking of the cash that could be earned but now i have woken and am not willing to Lose games for cash. I am thinking martin to karneziz and hanley to yarran and coloqhoun to cotchin.

reckon that's a great call. others may not agree but i haven't seen a team all preseason without a minimum of 4 elite mids.

Cotchin a good choice, and I honestly think your team is now amongst the very best I have seen, a genuine 9.5/10

no one gets a 10 or we'd all copy the team  ;D

Lock the Cotchinator in for a 9.5/10 side!

just thinkin again colliwobles, what about martin to karnezis and wines colqhonto moloney? or is moloney not good enough?

Colliwobblers

moloney is a cash cow and should score well for you in SC - 11 clearances in the nab cup final - admit the blues mids were off but still that is game changing which SC loves, his DT score wasn't great becasue he did little in the second half but his SC score would have been 100+ i reckon as he did all his work when the game was on the line.

that said he won't score what an elite mid will, but getting him is a better option than playing a rook, with the best option in my opinion being getting another elite.

My Mid is Ablett - Swan - Pendles - Kennedy - JSelwood - KLucas - Wines -O'Meara.

With a ruck as good as yours and a defence and fwd line that is UGLY - of course the money is spent on mids and rucks :)

I think your team has a better balance than mine if you can just get one more mid, but you can't i know you will only have about $470k just downgrading martin to karnezis....

if you love the balance of 4 elite def and 4 elite fwd then just get moloney

otherwise yeah you have to change your d4 or f4 to a midpricer to get an elite mid.

tough call.

teachrtony

6 rookies from one team (Port), can't see them all playing.

good point normally i would agree, but

1. pittard not exactly a rook
2. coloquin the one who probably won't as much
3. it's port and they all have been playing and the side is doing 1000% better than it did without them playing ;)
4. neade is little you'd think he wouldn't play much but he keeps standing up every game....

Reckon Stevenson and Mitchell (once promoted) are locks in the side as is pittard and wines, just leaves neade and coloquin who i'm not so sold on, but what other fwd rookie options?

teachrtony

Gray due to return (SANFL tonight). Lee from Saints and McCaffer rookie price got the nod for me. Agree though, Neade looks good. Also think they will nurse Wines a bit, plenty of promise but they value him too much.

teachrtony

Kerridge from Crows getting plenty of NAB games too.

wow had no idea gray was so close that's even better news for port who frankly look damn good so far. that will make it tough for neade.

or will Gray play as much or more in the midfield?

teachrtony

lol, if Gray in midfield what happens to Wines/Mitchell?
