Hello FF Users :)

Just got a few queries about these rookies as well as some players and there roles due to injuries, not exactly sure in who will play round 1 and who are worth there price. If anyone can give any advice/input on the rookies listed below will be appreciated! Thank you in advance!

Rookies:

- J.Witts
- L.Whitfield
- D. Curry Vs M.Daw
- S.Docherty
- J.Toumpas

Other players:

- B.Longer
- C.Pederson

Please and Thank you!

Just run a search for their names.
There's heaps of threads about rookies.

This is in my personal opinion

Witts: JS is questionable. Will be in and out of the side but someone to consider if he is named round 1.
Whitfield: Gun player but there are guys that will average just as much for half the price
Currie vs Daw- Highly unlikely that Currie will play in the same side as Goldy as they are both tap ruckman that dont realy make an impact forward. Daw more likely to play along side Goldy as he can go forward and be affective. Currie a lock if Goldy gets injured.
Docherty; On the fringe. Probably unlucky that Brisbane have had such a gretat pre season. There are a good spread of defender rookies that will likely have better JS.
J. Toumpas: Not someone I would consider. Small body and expensive. Would rather wines or Koby stevens for around the same price.

Longer: The bloke forgot which way he was going - pass lol
Pedersen: Shown nothing all pre season - pass

Thank you for responding Quinny,

Any players you would suggest getting in the midfield: At this stage the rookies i have include...

- Wines
- Stevens
- Mitchel
- Omeara
- Crouch
- Viney

Should i just keep them as is? or should i be upgrading any of those to the rookies in the 150-200k mark?

I think you've captured all the most popular, and best mid rookies available there, except I've got question marks over Koby Stevens. Has looked alright in the NAB but is pretty expensive and I'm not sure of his JS. The doggies do have a lot of developing mids.

I don't know why you would get a partly developed mid from another team if you are going to (instead) develop the ones you already have ahead of him.

If he doesn't perform off the bat, the more pertinent question will be how long they consider 'giving him a chance' is long enough before passing that opportunity to one of their younger contenders.

Based off pre-season there is no reason to suggest he was being trialed for 2014 duty.

Ringo

I would also throw Matt Jones from Melbourne into the equation at a cheap price.  No way he would have been selected by Dees to play VFL at 25 years of age.

Blues Blues Blues

I just traded Viney out for Jones for that reason Ringo.

Will wait and see if Viney named for rd1
