They have invested a lot in Martin and by now they expected him to be a huge star which hasn't turned out that way...yet. Martin has been involved in quite a few off field incidents which even involved the sacking of then team mate Connors.
Perhaps another club might do a lot better of controlling his off field dramas and turning his footballing career around.

Henderson, Schoenmakers and Higgins all NEED to have big years as well

I don't agree. Yes we've invested a lot in him, but Dusty has only just completed his third season! His first was impressive, his second was impressive, but his third was a bit of a let down but plenty of players have that quiet year before they break out at some point... Cotchin only started to impress in his fourth season, then exploded in his fifth... The problem with Martin is there is so much pressure on him to be this 'superstar' - we need to give him a chance to develop!

Yes there's been off-field issues but read some of the press coming out of the club - Mark Williams was recruited for a reason, and he is doing his job!

Exactly right toga! Martin is the same as every other 21 year old on an AFL list, they aren't all superstars at that age but people expect him to be because he had a good first and second year. He's still been a hell of a lot better than Scully and Trengrove who were taken before him in the draft and no one says anything about them not being superstars yet.
And Noz you say he's been involved in "quite a few off field incidents".. Like what? The Connors thing is the only one that hasn't been a rumour so far and it's the only thing he has ever been in trouble for. Martin won't be going anywhere, Lyon's job is to be controversial. He's done it well
