I ended up in the top 5000 last year and like all good teams i feel i've improved over the off-season...so this is the line up and tell me it's not top 1000 material?

Fisher, Hodge, Gilbee, Macdonald, Malceski, Hunt, Ladson
(Couple of kids not sure yet)

Ablett, Vince, Cooney, Boak, Kerr, Burgoyne (Bastinac, Stevens)

Kreuzer, Naitanui (Not Sure to early)

Johnson, Higgins, Franklin, LeCras, Hurley, Dangerfield, Ziebell
(Dennis-Lane and not sure yet)

I'm taking bets now that this team with some tweaking through the year is top 1000

Comments would be great.

Ok, here's my 2 cents. The line up looks a bit light-on for genuine premiums. Fisher, Hodge, Gilbee, Ablett, Cooney, Franklin and probably Higgins look like safe premium bets to me, the rest are kinda middle of the road (including risky players returning from injury) ... which is good if you are happy averaging 80 all over the ground, not so good if you want to average 100+ and push up into top 1000. Perhaps upgrade a few and start a couple of rookies.

Thanks for response Cool9..
Last year what cost me is to many premiums at the start of the year who didn't fire till later in season (ie: hodge, harvey) and with the rookies they always make money thats for sure but by the time you can cash in you have been dropping points week in week out, i agree i'm taking a bit of a punt on players back from injury.

Thanks again for comment.

Last year you wouldn't have lost any points by starting good rookies like Rich, Otten, Broughton, Anthony who averaged 85+ (I was lucky to have all of them). These were exceptional players, and we will no doubt see more this year. But even if your rookies only net you 60 pp week, that's not far behind 80 which you can expect from mid-priced players, and are certainly far better value for $$, meaning you can spend the savings filling other positions with out and out gun players.

dont think you'll make the top 1000 with a backline led by fisher.. good midfield not sure about vince though, surely will be tagged otherwise pretty good, and i would take you up on that bet for sure
