Would love to hear thoughts on which of these teams is stronger.

Team 1

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Vlastuin, Brown, Goodes (Terlich, Docherty)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Mundy, Moloney, Mitchell, Omeara (Viney, Crouch)
Ruck: Jacobs, Smith (Currie, Rowe)
For: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Kennedy, Karnezis, Macaffer (Neade, Lee)

Cash remaining: $2,000

Team 2

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Armstrong, Goodes, Docherty (Terlich, Stevenson)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Hannebery, Moloney, Wines, Mitchell  (Omeara, Viney)
Ruck: Jacobs, Longer (Currie, Rowe)
For: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Varcoe, Karnezis, Byrnes (Macaffer, Neade)

Cash remaining: $4,000

The reason for longer in team 2 is simple he will make money until leuy fit then will be traded down to him.
Other big change is mundy to hannebery, hanm has a very easy draw in the first 6 week and could go 100+ for that period to raise some quick cash

Team 1 has 11/5/6
Team 2 has 11/7/4

please leave comments as i like both teams and am finding it hard to choose

Making top 1000 more about Trades than Starting Line-up.

All your teams are looking good because you have a stacked midfield.  You have worked hard on the foundation, but you're not focusing at the structure that goes above it when building your final team.

I don't think you will generate the cash prior to the byes to set up your team of Champions.

Looking at your overall rookie situation there aren't enough Mids (in number), who have the best chance to fatten up quicker and chunkier. This is because you have Mundy and Moloney who will generate the points early, but Moloney particularly won't be able to upgrade himself to the type of Premium you'll want ahead of Mundy.

We know that forward cash-cows are a struggle this season so I definitely would not go Neade, Maca, Lee unless you are supremely confident of their JS. This is also a cash leak IMO. I'm liking the 3 mid-price option if not going for the 4 Prem Forwards others have adopted.

In defense you have 5 rookies. They aren't all going to generate the kind of cash you can get out of some of the gun mid rookies you've passed up.

Looking at R13 bye structure you have God/Gibbs/GAJ/Pend/Danger/Jacobs. 6 isn't the end of the world.

Season Locks. God/Gibbs/Duff/GAJ/Pend/JKen/Danger/Mundy/Jacobs/Frank/Cox/Rock. 12 out of 22 i think is 1 too light for me.

Mid-Pricers. Moloney/Smith/+3 Fwds. 1 too many for me. I'de lose a midpricer or gain a Premo but i don't think you can do both.

If i was to reconstruct most of your team based off your preferred players it would look something like this.

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Vlastuin, Brown, Goodes (Terlich, Docherty)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Mundy, Wines, Mitchell, Omeara (Viney, Crouch)
Ruck: Jacobs, Smith (Currie, Rowe)
For: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Kennedy, Varcoe, Karnezis  (Neade, Macaffer)

$44K spare change. That's just one change to your original. If you drop Vlastuin to a cheaper Defender you can even go Kennedy to LeCras.

If you are adamant in keeping Moloney and Mundy in mid then your team would look like this:

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, $115k Rookie, Brown, Goodes (Terlich, Docherty)
Mid: Ablett, Pendlebury, Jack/Murphy, Dangerfield, Mundy, Moloney, Mitchell, Omeara (Viney, Crouch)
Ruck: Jacobs, Smith (Currie, Rowe)
For: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Varcoe, Karnezis, Byrnes  (Neade, Macaffer)

$3k Change.

Amazing break down i very much appreciate it. I would really love your thoughts on this team as it is more to your structure

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Goodes, Pittatd, Terlich (Docherty, Steveson)
Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Moloney, Wines, Mitchell, Omeara (Jones, Viney)
Ruck: Maric, Goldstein (Currie, Rowe)
For: Cox, Zorko, Bartel, Lecras, Kennedy, Karnezis (Kerridge, Macaffer)

Cash Remaining: $6,500

I think Maric and Goldy will go 110+
My only worry is Moloney at m5 but the only way to upgrade would be to change rucks

Please leave thoughts and suggestions and a link to your team

the captain

Only real issues are with Moloney and Goldstein. Moloney will improve, maybe to his 2011 form, but won't become one of the elite midfielders. Goldstein is a massive risk with how well Currie has done so far, although Brad Scott has said he will not play them together throughout the season, and Goldstein is probably just infront.

Wouldn't mind going Smith/Mundy as you had instead of Goldy/Moloney, if you think Smith will go back to 2011 form, or even improve enough from last year to be serviceable then upgrade him. Personally think Mundy will end up around 110 average at least.

Goldy scored about 60 from half a game on the weekend whereas currie scored 30ish. If goldy plays by himself and keeps that score going im predicting an average of about 100.
I agree mundy is a gun and i really like him but to me the equation ins this.
Goldy 100 Moloney 90
Smith 80 Mundy 110
Its pretty much idendical.
the issue being who is more likely to be a keeper mundy or goldy?

1 prem short in the forwards is the only problem I see. But look at that midfield! Almost the same as mine apart from Watson instead of Danger.

If Karnezis does what everyone seems to think he'll do and JJK increases in value then there is no problem. u have 3 elite prems in Buddy/Cox/Rocky. And backs/rucks are solid enough.

We can't have everything and I believe that a strong midfield to start is the way to go even at the expense of other lines.
Cheers for rating my team. I did urs ages ago, but I will add that I would go Buddy > Zorko and Karnezis/Kennedy > Martin if possible. I like team 1 with the great mids.

I can't trust Goldy mate. personally i think Mundy has a better chance of being a handy m8-9 than Goldy does of being a good r2

Thanks ubeaut

maybe this team

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Goodes, Pittatd, Terlich (Docherty, Steveson)
Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Hannebery, Wines, Mitchell, Omeara (Jones, Viney)
Ruck: Jacobs, Mumford (Currie, Rowe)
For: Cox, Zorko, Bartel, Lecras, Kennedy, Karnezis (Kerridge, Macaffer)

Cash Remaining: $800

Thats maric and goldy to jacobs and mumford
and moloney to hannebery

Thoughts????

GDRAGONS

From what I've read I don't think Mumford has played a whole lot in the pre season so could be lacking match fitness but I could be wrong been away this week so not sure on his weekend just gone

ubeaut

That looks better. But I want Mumford too and he's not ready from most accounts. I would downgrade him and spend cash in fwds. Upgrade LeCras or Kennedy.

Also would prefer Varcoe over Karnezis and Fyfe/Mundy/Zaha over Hanneberry. Also Moloney is good value.

How about this i think its a ripper

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Goodes, Stevenson, Terlich (Docherty, Colquhoun)
Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Kennedy, Dangerfield, Mundy, Wines, Mitchell, Omeara (Jones, Viney)
Ruck: Maric, Cox (Currie, Witts)
For: Pavlich, Zorko, Rockliff, Lecras, Karnezis, Macaffer (Kerridge, Rowe)

Cash Remaining: $4,700

My thought is downgrade one of lecras and karnezis who ever is under performing when leuy is ready and swapping cox forward :)
