Koby Stevens a better choice than any rookies?? Got him in M6 at the moment I think he is a huge breakout chance with a new club

Anubis

Whitfield is heaps better. So is Viney and he's way cheaper

Eh for someone who hasn't played a game Whitfield is expensive and I ave viney on the bench

quinny88

Not so certain on Stevens JS. Would prefeer Wines at around that price

Anubis

take a look back on the former #1 picks in their first year. they are all in the top 5 best scoring rookies for the year. except patton but thats to be expected from a kpp. even scully did it.

Yeah but that means there are guys ahead of them that are half the price
And I doubt Watts was a top 5 scoring rookie lol

I like Koby Stevens as unique pick.  If he fails, very easy to downgrade him.  But a bit harder to sideways trade to him due to price.

Whitfield has played a couple of NAB games and done ok.

Whitfield looked good. So has Stevens and Toumpas. I have Stevens in with Wines at the moment. Contested possessions are what I am looking at. Both win it. And the Dogs coach loves a guy who can win the contested ball.

Dayze

Stevens should b in the top five scoring rooks, but so should Wines, and it's hard to find the cash for two premium priced rookies, especially with how cheap our other solid mid rooks are...
In saying that, with the amount of years in the system Stevens has had, he is a slim chance of averaging 90.

Crouch and Viney are looking like prime vest candidates right now, so is Kommer. Apart from O'Meara I can't see any guys being super reliable right now. Wines is killing it in the pre season, so have Whitfield, Toumpas and Stevens. In terms of the mids, those guys are the ones that have impressed me the most that are mid only.

Dayze

I agree that crouch is a vest candidate but not Viney. With melbournes diabolical midfield Viney should play the first 2 months.
Whitfield would have to average a full 15 points more than Viney to b anywhere worth it. Don't think that's a chance....
Like the uniqueness of it but u don't need unique from ur rooks, u just need maximum cash

I think theres every chance Whitfield can do that, his NAB scores have put Vineys to shame. Viney been used as a run with player so not sure that will be the norm in the reall games but none the less Whitfield is capable.

Very highly doubt that grazz viney is a ball winner and it would be a joke to see him as a tagger
