thats not great considering how good the port defenders played. If colq can get a gig might be worth going him instead for 150k less.

Yuck. Was only a practise game and was considering him but can't risk a that kind of money on a player that could score less 50

Cheers mate.
Hmm I know it's only one match but I doubt I'll take him at D4 anymore.

Now to decide whether that position belongs to a Premo or a Rookie..

I'd take a rookie over Tony TBH.
+1
Going with either God, Gibbs, HeppD + 3 rooks
or
God, Gibbs + 4 rooks  8)

Still 50:50 on Tony. Might start him because I could afford it and given the gametime I think he could go 80+ and be an awesome stepping stone.

Shame he plays in the second week though :-\ Would like to have him locked and not have to play around the partial lockout..

A HARD-EDGED Port Adelaide has accounted for the Sydney Swans in both clubs’ last tune-up before the premiership season begins.

The Power stunned the Sydney Swans at AAMI Stadium, matching the reigning premiers at their own game to race home 30-point winners, 15.12 (102) to 10.12 (72).

After winning last year's flag and establishing itself as the AFLs toughest side, the Swans were pushed and ultimately defeated by a new-look Power outfit that last year wouldn't have kept up with such opposition.

While it was an ugly game, the stats were telling; the Power led the Swans in contested possessions 145-138 and inside 50s 54-43, while tackles were almost even at 77-78.

Swans coach John Longmire was hesitant to praise his opposition too much, claiming it was too early in the year to really offer any judgment.

"I thought they were pretty sharp … it's really hard to measure, it's not until you get well into the season that you actually get a feel for it," Longmire said.

The reigning premiers looked sharper and more dangerous when in possession early, but missed a host of opportunities to go ahead, booting 3.5 in the opening term.

Port Adelaide on the other hand made the most of any chance it got, kicking four goals straight to take a narrow lead into the first change.

Adam Goodes was held to just one handball by Tom Jonas in the first quarter but exploded in the second, to finish the half with 13 disposals.

He ended the match with 19 disposals and two goals.

Josh Kennedy registered a triple-double with 34 disposals, 10 tackles and 11 clearances but each time the Swans looked like kicking away the Power responded, moving the ball quickly and with far greater confidence than it has for the past 24 months.

Power captain Travis Boak was outstanding for the home side with 29 disposals and three goals, as was Brad Ebert (25 touches and a goal).

Longmire said the Swans needed to fine-tune a few things in order to hit round one running.

"We need another couple of strong weeks of training to make sure we're competitive in that first couple weeks because we know we need to be," he said.

In his comeback game, injury again struck Power forward John Butcher, who could have a cracked bone in his hand.

It's another setback in a long line of injury problems for the 21-year-old, but Hinkley didn't think the latest issue would keep him from round one.

This is the scores published on the Port Adelaide website:

TRAVIS Boak continued his good AFL Fantasy form with a huge game against the Swans on Saturday.
The Port Adelaide skipper starred from start to finish racking up 29 disposals, 6 tackles and 3 goals for an impressive 121 Dream Team points.

He was supported in the midfield by the consistent Brad Ebert who will be on a number of AFL Fantasy coaches’ radars with a 110 point return following a 100+ game against the Eagles last week.

Ollie Wines cemented his spot in most coaches starting 18 with 46 points in just a half of football. The Power’s first round pick is a near certainty to start in Round 1 and with his strong fitness base, is likely to get game time for much of the year, making his $156,700 price tag too good to pass up.

Kane Mitchell still needs to be elevated to be any chance in Round 1, but coaches will watch Alberton closely with many rating Mitchell as a potential fantasy stud. The mature-age recruit had 41 points playing just the second half to follow on from his 26 disposal game against the Demons in week two of the NAB Cup.

Jasper Pittard â€" a Dream Team bargain at just $132,600 â€" showed a glimpse of what he’s capable of, impressing across half back with 25 touches and a goal to finish with 108 points.

Fellow defender and bargain buy, Lewis Stevenson, rounded out his pre-season with a solid 81 point showing against the reigning premiers. At just $108,500, he is sure to pique the interest of a number of coaches. Sam Colquhoun is another Power defender with plenty of upside at a tad of $100,000 â€" the pre-season draft pick pushed his claim for a Round 1 spot with 19 disposals and a goal to finish with 74 points.

The twin towers of Matt Lobbe and Jarrad Redden were consistent in the ruck, increasing the likelihood both ruckmen will play come Round 1. Lobbe had 23 hitouts and a goal to finish with 73 points while Redden’s 4 tackles and 19 hitouts helped him to 69 points.

Restricted to just one half each, Jake Neade ($108,500) and Angus Monfries ($352,300) did enough to suggest they’ll be looked at closely leading in to the Round 1 lockout.

I could be wrong but is he a lock down defender?

he has been playing lock down roles this NAB cup, Stevenson on the other hand has been playing a little loose and getting more possessions so for the $108K Port defenders, Stevenson is the better pick.
