How do people feel about this guy?

Is he GC's no#2 ruck?

Will he play regularly this season?

Is he a better bench option than Witts?

I'm gonna risk it with Cox, Currie (Rowe, Witts/Gorringe)

mate you will need a lot of luck to survive with that ruck setup. Massive risk

Mr Adams

I have Roughy in the FWD line which with Rowe will give me added DPP.

The only concern with it is having to play a dodgy forward rookie on field if I had to swap them around.

I figure in DT it won't matter too much given the ridiculous amount of trades we have. SC I have to be a little more careful.

As for Daw, I'm not convinced he'll get regular games, especially over Currie and Goldy.

A lot of luck??? How so?? All he needs is currie to play which is a HUGE possibility. They trailed him by himself with no Goldstein and passed with flying  colours

I like that set up ando.  If currie is picked for Round 1, then he should score well, and he would make a geat Ruck 2.  Coxy is still the #1 ruckman, so a good ruck combo.

It worked well last year.  I had the Cox, Giles, Redden, Big O combo, and they scored well, along with freeing up a lot of cash to use elsewhere.

If Currie is picked I will consider the same ruck combo, but most likey Daw and Rowe as ruck reserves, but it will depend on who gets picked for round 1.

Yeah in the same boat bottlemart. I'm hoping currie does play round 1 if not my structure is in trouble hahah

IF Currie is picked it will be a decent system....but i just can't see that happening, they were trialing him on his own and while he did well....Goldy is still the clear No.1 ruck at North.

Daw is much more likely to get picked then Currie for mine because he's a lot more strings to his bow around the ground as a second ruckmen. Can't see them playing Goldy and Currie together and can't see Currie getting a job ahead of Goldy either unless he goes down injured

Dont forget that last week currie was rucking against 2 blokes that arent genuine ruckmen and he probably had 2-3 inches and 10-20 kgs over them.....
IMO Daw has shown more around the ground and will be used very rarely in the ruck. So that could help his case for security

How different is playing a rookie in the rucks to playing a rookie in the forwards or defence?
If Currie/Daw/Gorringe/Rowe can play and play decently they'll score better than a forward rookie and with backup in the forward line with Cox/Roughy/Ryder then this is actually quite a clever tactic imo

Mr Adams

I'm sticking with the strategy, but thanks for the insights.

As for Gorringe? Does anyone know anything about this guy?

Daw may have some tricks but he's still miles away from any kind of consistency (which will correlate with game time).

Played a couple of games in 2011 and wasn't the worst and I thought he would of improved last year but just played the 1 game but I think he was injured.

nah I wouldn't count on Gorringe. BUT I do agree the 1 prem 3 rookie rucks can work. Currie,Daw,Witts,Rowe, all a chance for round 1 or soon after. If Currie is smashimg it they could easily play Goldy/Cuurie with Goldy going forward.

With Cox/Roughy/whoever as backup in the fwds u would need good fwd bench cover for them.

Risky but very possible and it will give me my dream midfield!

Goldy cant play forward. He has never been able to so that wouldnt work. And if they play Goldy and Currie together then what do you honestly think Currie is going to score? would be lucky to score 60 unless he rucks alone which wont happen

Marstar

If you want to eliminate the most risk from this strategy then it's :

Goldy, Currie - Daw , Gorringe

Minimum 1 Kangaroo will play regardless of who gets injured ever.

I would not recommend this strategy either way.
