Adelaide 2013 SuperCoach Preview
Likely round one side
B: Otten, Rutten, Reilly
HB: Brown, Talia, Janesch
M: Douglas, Sloane, Vince
HF: Wright, Jenkins, Petrenko
F: Callinan, Walker, Porplyzia
Foll: Jacobs, Thompson, Dangerfield
Int: Van Berlo, McKay, Crouch, Johncock
Emg: Shaw, Henderson, McKernan
Missing: Brodie Smith

Premiums
Patrick Dangerfield - Midfielder - $636,600
It was the break-out season of break-out seasons. Just as thought Dangerfield would eventually slow down, he kicked it up another notch. Averaged nearly 120 and crossed the 130 mark a ridiculous eight times. Can only get better.

Scott Thompson - Midfielder - $591,000
Thompson had a typically consistent 2012 averaging above 110 points per match. He's getting older, but still a crucial member of the Crows' midfield. A premiership may rest on his performances.

Sam Jacobs - Ruckmen -  $546,300
Missing only one match and averaging a career high equals a big win for those that chose Jacobs at the start of last year. The graph is on an upward trend so don't be surprised to see Jacobs truly become a premier ruckman of the competition this year. Should be a fairly unique option too.

Rory Sloane - Midfielder - $567,700
It's incredible to think that without Sloane's tired finish to the year, he would have averaged more than Scott Thompson. Unlike Dangerfield, he did drop off towards the season's end, but with another pre-season under the belt, Sloane could easily become one of the AFL's best.

Matthew Wright - Forward/Midfielder - $475,300
The best bit about Matty Wright's rapid progression is that he's still a midfielder/forward Dual Position Player. He scored the seventh most SuperCoach points for the Crows last season and kicked 15 goals. A point-of-difference player who could easily take his average to beyond 100.

Taylor Walker - Forward - $536,000
Do I have the right Taylor Walker? Yep, Tex is still only 22. He averaged 100 points per match, which was elite for a forward of any sort. Now with Tippett gone, there'll be more responsibility but more chance of bigger scores.

Rookies
Brad Crouch - Midfielder - $115,900

Tough inside midfielder, who's ready to play at AFL level for the Crows and he showed good form in the NAB Cup, which should secure him a spot in the Crows line up come round one. He's in his second pre season with the Crows, so he has an advantage over most first year rookies. Crouch knows how to find the footy and he's cheap and likely to get games, so I'd chuck him onto your bench in your midfield.

Luke Brown - Defender - $135,500
Brown didn't get much of an opportunity in 2012 only playing the 3 games and averaging 35 SuperCoach points and hence being cheap in 2013. But with the retirement of defender Michael Doughty, it could open a spot for Brown in the Crows backline and if he's given games he should score nicely and make some cash.

Sam Kerridge - Forward/Midfielder - $115,900
Kerridge was solid in the NAB Cup and will be pushing for selection for the Crows during the year. He is one of many players fighting for a spot in the Crows line-up, but he may given a game later in the year. Possible upgrade target, as I don't think he'll be named in round one.

Cheap as Chips
Richard Tambling - Defender - $219, 900

Tambling was flying in the first week of the NAB Cup for the Crows, but didn't make another appearance. The controversial defender is fighting for his career and a spot has opened down back with the depature of Michael Doughty, who he and Luke Brown will be fighting for that spot. But Tambling is a risky pick as he has only played 11 games in the last two years, after crossing from Richmond, so he doesn't have the best job security. There are better options elsewhere.

Jarryd Lyons - Forward/Midfielder - $169,400
Lyons is more expensive than most other rookies, but due to the lack of decent forward rookies this season, Lyons is someone you may have to consider. Lyons played three games last year and with some good form in the Nab Cup, he should be given a opportunity again this year.

Break out contenders
Josh Jenkins - Forward/Ruckmen - $363,300

With the departure of Kurt Tippett, there is a massive hole in the Crows forward line. But the Crows believe Forward/Ruckmen Josh Jenkins can fill this hole. He played 11 games for a average of 67 SuperCoach points last year. With Jenkins guaranteed game time in 2013, he will increase his average and is a good chance to have a break out season due to more opportunities.

Ricky Henderson - Defender/Forward - $314,300
The Crows utility Henderson is able to play in any position on the ground, which should help him break out into the Crows line up. Henderson has been averaging in the fifties for the last three years in SuperCoach, but I expect improvement from him in 2013. He showed last year he has the ability to score well, scoring 120 SuperCoach points against Port with six goals. With Tippett gone he may play up forward and his DPP should also be handy.

Others: Aidan Riley, Andy Otten and Brodie Smith

Nice write up mate,

Any reason why Luke Brown will get a call up over Sam Shaw?  Last year Shaw fitted pretty well into the backline and is well liked in Adelaide.

Nice Roo! great stuff,

Of course I will intervene, Shaw wil play CHB and Walker is the CHF, but otherwise very nice!

Cheers!
I just think the Crows don't really need Shaw as they already have three talls: Rutten, Talia and Otten.

IMO Shaw is ahead of Otten. Very good write-up though  :)

Yep I think Otten unfortunatelly for him and Tibet! Jaensch when Smith is back. Swap Reilly and Brown
