what do you think now? I know i have alot of rookies in the forward line but i beleive there is alot of value in the rookies there, so at some point i'm hoping to trade them off to guns like Riewoldt, assuming a couple of them come on. My backline is now 5/0/2/2 and my midfield 3/1/3/1

There will be some adjustments made before season starts but atm what do you think?

Zeibell, Dangerfield and Rusling are all risks as starters for R1 imo.
I would downgrade Bowden ( a gun but pricey and what about his form slump early last year ) so you can improve on these players.
Otherwise a very strong side.

Is there injury concerns for Houli? or a history of injuries? I feel i have to ask as he plays for essendon and you just can't be too sure these days!

Mate don't get me wrong, I really like your side and am a fan of all of your gun selections.
I just think you may have to make some sacrifices somewhere to shore up your consistency in getting 22 starters on the field. I am in the same boat.
R1 is going to be a major bummer for so many people. Because of the first game being on a Thursday night, the sides playing on the weekend only name 25 man squads. This means that people placing their faith in cheap Melbourne backmen like Petterd and Grimes are risking the fact that they may not take to the field on the Sunday and score a big fat 0.
Personally I'd drop Bowden, Ottens and Fisher.
Not because I don't like them. Stated my opinion on Bowden. Ottens I believe has played is best footy and there is better value out there.
No excuse for Fisher, would just prefer only one saint in the backline.
Replacements to consider are Adcock ( tearing up preseason ), Malceski ( even more tempting after Kennellys retirement ), while guys like Mundy and Birchall are not guns but will consistently score 70 - 90 range.
Rucks are tough, not a lot on offer. Maybe Charman, McIntosh of Griffen.
See if you can fit Veszpremi into your forward line as an idea too.
Hope this helps.

Good post mate.
I actually did alot of the things you said before i read this post. Ottens to McIntosh, which i dont really like, had charman originally, i just can't settle for the 2nd rucks spot. Vesz and McGylnn came in for Higgins and ruslings. Though i'm not sure im completly sold on McGlynn at this stage. Being a hawks supporter what are your thoughts on him?
i also changed my backline. Birch and adcock came in for Bowden and Chad.  I figure chad has some concerns and Joel usually starts slowly so he would be an ideal trade target. This allowed me to really upgrade my forward line and i dont think i lost TOO much potential in the backs.
The funny thing is you mentioned all of these moves and i made them all before reading your post!
Great minds think a like. Get back to me on the McGlynn situation please.

Hawks_1976

I can't shed too much light on the Hawks situation but here is what I know.
Crawf has retired, Croad will be missing for the 1st half of the year and Ellis might be missing till around R6 or so? Not 100% on Ellis.
In a nutshell, a few possies up for grabs.
Gilham and T.Murphy will get first cracks at key posts with Mitch Thorp heavily in the mix.
2 Midfield positions will be fought out by Morton, Kennedy, McGlynn, Tuck, Whitecross, Muston.
Tuck is probably 1st cab off the rank with McGlynn not far behind as they have runs on the board. But the rest of the pack is not far behind. The Hawks will give all these guys a run at some stage during the season but they will all find it difficult to cement a spot, especially when Croad and Ellis return.
Beau Dowler was a regular emergency last year and will not be far from a debut.

XztatiK

Not a bad team at all.

Better than most of the other duddish teams on here.

Ziebell's not a back anymore.

dylan84

think you ended up makin too many changes, but it looks like a very good side. would have left chad and higgins in the team though, really rate them this year.mcintosh right for 2nd ruck, as their are many in similar scoring ability and he is one of the cheaper high end rucks

Hillsy

I just tried to put this team into the system and it doesnt fit in the salary cap.

Carrazzo has a broken arm and will be out for 6 weeks...
