Not a lot of choices, pick the Port ruck named round one, punt on Vardy, take JJ (Jenkins) but expect inconsistancy

All this leads to either A. Rest Berger on the bench or B. Start Zac Smith at R2

This means forget 5 mid premiums and decent rucks. One or the other, I say.

Forget 3 1/2 decent defenders along with super strong forwards to avoid rookie exposure up front.

Even more important to go for 'value' premiums and a few mid pricers now.

So now the pressure mounts to be able to have both GAJ and Buddy start!!  :(

So originally i had GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Kennedy and Dangerfield in the mids but decided to downgrade Danger to Mundy and upgrade Luey to Bellchambers. Still have the 3 Premo backline and Buddy, Cox, Rocky, Martin, Karnezis and Caff up front.

I don't know about you guys but I'm absolutely loving the fact that without Leue as practically everyone's R2, team structure and strategy so close to Round 1 will be much more diverse.  I don't think there is enough time to gravitate towards a new 'flavour of the month' setup. 

FFooty readers will be at an advantage to the general populous as collectively there are some great footy minds here to pick at. Even so deciding on who's advice to accept, or reject, and what risks you are willing to make will make or break your opening Rank.

Loving it.

I'm going for a Premium KKP ruckman and a Premium DPP ruckman and dropping the extra Premium Mid. This way the rest of my team structure is unaffected. My DPP will move forward to replace a slaughtered CCow when a suitable R2 emerges, Leue is worth risking or maybe Currie will pull a Giles even.

250-260k more for Jacobs, Roughead, Ryder
300k more for Cox, Maric

No easy fix. Need to give up something for sure.

Yeah. Will make the season more interesting playing opponents with different ruck set ups. Everyone was going to have Luey. Now R2 will be any of 5 or 6.

Had $150k left so just slotted in Smith at R2. I reckon he'll average 90, but will be upgraded to naitanui mid season.

hopefully currie can play r1 so i can look at hmac. if he can stay fit he's a steal at 500k

i disagree with this. upgrade targets are still upgrade targets, just the manner in which you go about getting them might have to change.
