I usually upload a photo but I'm having some issues with Image Shack.

I think I'm getting really close to my final squad! I've pretty much got everyone locked in except some rookies and maybe Armstrong, JJK, Karnezis and Mundy. (IMO Armstrong might have a sneaky chance to break into the Swans back half with Johnson going down, JJK or Karnezis may become Cornelius depending on if he performs for a third straight week, this weekend and i might give Fyfe/Rich or Gaff the nod over Mundy) Here it is:

DEF: Goddard, Gibbs, Duffield, Armstrong, Goodes, Docherty (Stevensen, Terlich)
MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, J.P. Kennedy, Dangerfield, Mundy, Wines, Mitchell, O'Meara (Hill, Crouch)
RUC: Jacobs, Bellchambers (Rowe, Currie)
FWD: Franklin, Cox, Rocky, J.J. Kennedy, Karnezis, Macaffer (Lee, Neade)
Cash Left: 3,200k

I've got a few smokies in my side which i'm pretty happy with. I can rest easy as i've found a way to get my man Franky in, another Hawk i'm quite pleased to have in my team is Hill, he is set for a big year IMO and has some nice JS now that Young has left and poor Suckers went down.  :'(

I'm really intrigued to see what you all think of my team!

Thanks Hawkers!

Hawkers - very up to date team in terms of trends and form!
You have really highlighted all the issues to be honest.
The obvious omission of Leuy has prompted a change in structure which looks the goods. Can Ryder and Belly both remain as strong scorers in the same team. Worst case scenario is I don't think Belly will decline.
Premium selections are strong and rookies look standard.
Is Duffield a safe pick at D3 though? ps I have gone Hanley so probably ok.

Overall good side which would be hard to beat if round one was tomorrow!

Cheers mate! I'm glad to hear i'm up to date with the recent trends and highlighted all issues! I really happy with Belly and Jacobs and i think Belly could crack 100ppg this year if what Hirdy has said is true (Ryder playing permo Fwd with Belly being full time #1 Ruck) With Duffield, IMO his career average without Broughts in the side is too good to ignore and should be a a very solid D3 (Really like Hanley too) I Wish Round 1 was tomorrow because it means i might not panic and stuff up my team between now and 10 days time ;)

Thanks heaps for your input!

Yes. Onto a piece of paper so you don't lose it.

Or is that too old fashioned?

Solid side here Hawkers which I can not fault.  Structure is sound.

You still have 11 definite keepers with Mundy and Belle possibly as well so not losing with change in ruck. So you can use trades wisely.

A few people getting on the Armstrong bandwagon now that Johnson has been injured.

Also quite a number going 3 prem fwds and 2 mid pricers plus McAffer including myself.

Good luck sit on team now until you finalise rookies.

Thanks heaps Ringo, its always good to see that the next comment as been posted by Ringo, always love to hear what you have to say, hopefully i don't do anything drastic before kick off ;)

Can't fault too much here.
What are the long term plans for Mundy(his best ever is 109), Kennedy and Bellchambers, who are unlikley to become premium scorers. ie. how much cash do you expect  out of them before you trade them out, when will that happen and how many trades will it cost you? Because you still have 8 other upgrades to make.
Also I see Neade and Lee with limited opportunites/low scoring ability this year. How many tall forwards can the saints play? How much can a 65kg guy get the ball when the real stuff starts especially with ports weak mids?

tor01doc

Agree with you on the Lee and Neade comments tom_scully, which is why I think having a team that you like with at least $50 000 is ideal so you can upgrade rookies afetr teams are announced.

1st off  mundy is a great pick
Also who do u see getting more opportunities than neade and lee?

tor01doc

This is the problem we've been facing all preseason -  lack of realistic forward rookies.

This is why Byrnes, Varcoe, Karnezis, Macaffer etc are overrepresented in teams.

Leue's fall from favour has put extra pressure on this weakest link.

May have to cop it or compromise elsewhere - like M5 or D4.

The year Mundy averaged 107, he actually averaged 118 before he was injured from Round 1 to 11, the injury sustained in Round 12 saw him score 6 and then came back for Round 22 and scored 99. Also Mundy had an interrupted season this year (May be repercussions from last year, idk) which saw him have no preaseason and average a dismal 78 from his first 14 games, but then once he was over that he came back firing, averaging 114 over his last 8 games. If he can achieve this numbers he will be a nice M8-10 for the year. With Belly i think he can average around 100ppg, which i will then off load him to a Bottomed out NicNat and Have Jacobs and Nicnat as R1 and R2. Kennedy i'm obviously not going to keep but you need Mid pricers up Fwd because of the lack of Fwd rookies.

Ringo

I see your team like this you have 11 keeper premium players excluding Bellchambers and Mundy.

First step is to get 18 prem players asap so assuming you are going to have to upgrade both that is 7 upgrades required,  Assuming this is down by downgrade/upgrade with 2 trades that is 14 trades used.  This leaves a further 16 trades for tinkering so no problems with trades.
