I'm not on FF that much anymore and as a result I hadn't had a real look at this membership points idea. Sorry for not raising concerns earlier but I would now like express my general distaste for the idea, and I for one will not be jumping through hoops trying to earn imaginary brownie points that seem to be distributed fairly randomly on the basis of reguarly changing criteria.

Fair opinion MC, no issue. Rest assured that the impact won't be huge on actual scores next year. The object is to get people involved more than just naming a team each week. Understand this isn't some people's cup of tea, but there are willing assistants out there that will help.

To be honest, the fact that that you have not noticed this until now suggests that involvement is an issue sometimes - and why shouldn't people who contribute regularly, get involve in discussions, make graphics and create the atmosphere be rewarded for there efforts? Why others potentially freeload off others efforts? I wouldn't call it 'random criteria' or 'jumping through hoops'.

I would call it jumping through hoops; I can nearly garantuee you that if clubs weren't getting membership points they wouldn't be making their round 1 teams look nice.
And I had seen people mentioning membership points all over the place and had the rough idea but hadn't had time to fully read it or express my opinion. Be worried about my involvement when my team sucks, I'm not there for trading discussions and aren't naming a team each week.
I also think asking an assistant to join your club just so they can do graphics for you is kinda rude. I don't think clubs need more than one assistant anyway and I sure as hell know I'm not going to fire LE (for example) just because someone else says they'll make my thread look pretty.

Regarding the round 1 team graphics MC as I mentioned when I posted mine I had actually designed that back in December (maybe early Jan) before there had been talk any talk of membership points. Maybe others wouldn't have bothered though you're right.

Still a lot of points are available for things that don't require the use of graphics and do go buy how your team performs so not like you will miss out on heaps if you don't do anything. Plus as Ossie said its not going to affect the scores a great deal next season anyway.

Not suggesting you fire assistants My Chumps, and there's no requirement for only 1 assistant. All up to personal choice.

Some people (CF and Purple for example) already make 'things look pretty'. Those coaches, and many others, should be rewarded in whatever small way for this IMO and for contributing to the game beyond there own team.


On a different note, would like to PNL 20 membership points for running the preseason comp... anybody object?
