What's his potential average this year do we think? 90+? or will he be below 80? Have him at F5. Give me your thoughtssssssssssssss

One thing about lecras. He plays well at hone. But not too good away from home.

I recall him kicking 12 or 13 goals in a game away from home a couple of years ago haha.

I dunno about Lecras. Before his injury he was set for a semi permanent midfield role but since then Wescoast has developed a much stronger midfield so I expect him to be more of a stay at home forward which will no doubt mean a bit of inconsistency. Will be a good cash cow but I think an average of 85 is more likely than 90+

Prefer JJK and the $70000.

yeah the risk is not worth the reward imo

Yeah it was against the Bombers at Etihad when West Coast were struggling. He always seemed to tear them to bits. I actually tipped West Coast and said Lecras would kick a bag on them since they had trouble stopping medium sized forwards that year. I was expecting 4 or 5, not exactly 12, but it ended up working out for me.

small forwards in general do well against us

It was 2010, I went back and looked at the games now and there was a trend. Brad Green kicked a bag, Varcoe, Byrnes and Stevie J did for Geelong, Danger, there was just a lot of signs pointing to Lecras playing well that game and him giving them the most trouble. The time he played them before that season he kicked 4. I think more recently Betts bag of goals is the other example. That is probably why they picked up Hibberd and Baguley since then. Help sure up the small defender spots.

Carlton have historically had the same problem in recent times. When we had Carrazzo back there, he would generally take out the small forward (Davey is a guy he would always towel up) but eventually he moved to the middle and the smalls would kick bags. Then Russell stepped up big back there and was able to shut down guys like Stevie J. Russell then had injury and form troubles and they started leaking goals again. The defense was pretty crappy in general but in 2010 and 2011 it seemed to sure up before regressing again last season. Some due to injury, some due to form, some due to not having the right pieces in general.

Lecras will get his matchups against these teams and since he is so deadly accurate, he will punish them and score well.

Yeah Richmond have had the same trouble with small forwards for years. Milne was the main one that carved us up every time. He would have done absolutley nothing for weeks then play us and have a day out.

Then we got Morris and he does a great job shutting down all of those annoying little forwards!

Ricochet

When he has played more than 3 games he has only ever gone as high as 86. This was in 2011 when he was getting significant time in the midfield. With the development of the Eagles young gun mids since then, I can't see him pushing 85+. Around 80-82 is my guess

The Eddie Betts goalfests that seem to happen round 1 every season. The thing I see with Lecras is that for his size he leads well and marks the ball so unlike other small to medium sized forwards he does not rely on the crumb to kick his goals. He also reads the ball well from the ruck so he is able to kick goals from stoppages in the forward line.
