It has been for a while mate. I think people may be overreacting to this. If he's back training by Thursday, and if he's only missing Rnd 1, I'm happy to have him on my bench :)

With who at R2?

Cox and Roughead, Leuy and Currie on the bench. One of Cox or Roughy will go to the fwds when Leuy returns.

Now that Berger is in doubt does anyone think that a cheap option like Longer/Hickey/Hampson could be worth a go? I have Jacobs and Griffin at the moment but considering downgrading Griffin to free up some cash.

Yep, I've considered getting in Billy Longer in place of Leuey, as you would think that he would get a fair share of the ruck duties with Stef Martin while the Berger is out. Should generate some cash and then hopefully in round 4 or so when Leuey is on the bubble I can trade Longer -> Leuey + a bit of cash.

That being said, I'm waiting for more news before I make any moves.

Longer has scoring potential too, scored 59, 74 and 81 last season! could easily be better than Varcoe/Byrnes for first few rounds
