Hey all,

Def: Goddard, Gibbs, Hartlett, Armstrong, Goodes B, Brown L  (Stevenson, Terlich)
Mid: Ablett, Swan, Pendlebury, JPK, Dangerfield, Wines, Crouch, O'Meara, (Mitchell K, Viney)
Ruck: Jacobs, Currie, (Rowe, Daw)
Fwd: Franklin, Cox, Rockliff, Martin, Karnezis, Macaffer, (Kerridge, Lee)

Changes since last time this was up. It has taken me a week to decide what to do about Leuenberger..!!

Docherty and Pittard out, Luke Brown and Tony Armstrong in.
Matt Jones out, Wines in.
Varcoe out, Karnezis in (Surprise Surprise!) ::)

Any critique appreciated and reciprocated.

You confident with Hartlett and Martin?
I know I have been putting an argument of starting without GAJ on the other thread, I'm just neither sold on the idea or am I discounting it..... Hartlett to Duffield? Will exhaust every penny you got

teomanbro

def: ive got with the same strategy 3 prems, hartlett might pay off! thought about tony armstrong from swans? alex johnson is out injured armstrong might take his spot and he has been drilling in the nap cup, or if you want some1 cheaper, maybe a luke brown?

mid: cant fualt you their, maybe jones for wines?

ruc: standard! got the same strategy!

fwd: great fwd line, martin might pay off, id probably go with karnezis instead of varcoe but that's just my suggestion

I like it, if you are going 5 rookie defenders, Luke Brown (135k a little more pricey) is a great option with great JS with Doughty's retirement, Smith's injury and the coach's endorsement.

Nice midfield, maybe too strong - but still got 5 good rookies.

Rucks... Jacobs is consistent but his ceiling is concerning for mine.

Forwards nice but Varcoe has not shown me anything to get me to go even close to picking him to date in the NAB Cup.

Overall, a nice and sound team with a couple of personal differences, 8-9/10 (depending on what you do with your rucks)  ;)

Nice solid team I like the unique picks in Hartlett and varcoe. Midfield really strong and ruck line is good. Rate team 8.5/10. Can you rate my team please. http://www.fanfooty.com.au/forum/index.php/topic,73300.0.html

Not to bad not sure on Varco or Harlett I would may look at Josh Jenkins in the forward line instead of Varco as looks like he will be playing the Tippet role this year and gives you another option in the rucks.

Something else to think about.. Thanks Pizzle :) Duffield vs. Hartlett is worth the look. Happy with Martin at this point vs. Wright/Robbo. Really have no reason why. I think we will all be splitting hairs on these three.

I'm a GAJ lover mate. He stays! Last year I removed the captaincy from him once when he was playing. Remember when Carrazzo tagged Pendlebury??? Yeah.... GAJ got 180, and Pendles 60-80 from memory. That was my 'Never again' moment when it comes to captaincy and GAJ.

Cheers Teomanbro,

Not sure I can afford Armstrong. Luke Brown may be a good replacement for Docherty though.

Won't have the money to go Jones to Wines, but definitely need to look at Jones. If he isn't palying I am a little stuck on what option to go ahead with.

I'm not sold on Karnezis yet. I know hes had a great NAB but am willing to wait until the real stuff begins. If he shows the same form line over round 1 and 2 I will consider him as part of my fix trades.

Luke Brown is being drummed into my head. I will do my research. :)

I agree on Jacobs. Orignally, a long time back in the before time I had Sandi and his ceiling. I just don't see better options around for now. For mine Sandi, Maric, and Natanui, and Cox are the four you want to end the year with. Two of these will be in the rucks obviously, and two in the forwards (Cox and Natanui). This is the reason I am now thinking of the opportunity Burger, Currie, Daw, Rowe presents. I am not wasting having Jacobs ( A possible non-keeper) starting.

I agree on Varcoe to a degree, it's more a matter of lack of cheap forward options pushing me towards selecting him. I'm really not sure who else to get around his price point.

Jenkins has certainly been a consideration for me, but I'm not quite sold.

He is at an awkward price, but if he fires would be a great unique. He is another I will be watching closely in the first couple of rounds when shots are finally fired in anger, and may be someone who warrants a fix trade before Round 3.

Toyed with that ruck setup myself leaves a lot of room for spending elsewhere but im not sure how it will go, once goldy comes back in. pretty risky.

Love the armstrong pick, i think he will go very well and add that little bit extra to those who are going a 3 premo backline.
what a midfield. what can i say?? IMO all will easily go 125+ maybe even close to 130+. good rookie choices too.
love the big sauce, and good rookies too, but is Currie gonna be enough as an R2?? thats my only concern.
amazing fwdline... super strong.

thoughts:
D/G franklin to Zorko (105+) and U/G your R2.

Cheers Keeper,

YNWA!

My take on the ruck situation is that at least one of Currie or Daw will get a gig each week if not both. If Rowe is selected that will be a huge bonus. Cox is there if need be to swing into the ruck if none of the three rookies play any given week.

I still can't bring myself to get rid of Franklin. Just don't want to miss out when he goes BANG! Zorko did put up a very convincing case last night though. Enough to make me trial a few things this morning to get him AND Rockliff in. Before finally deciding my original team was solid enough and just needed some trimming around the edges rather than a strategy overhaul.
