G'day all. Just wondering if there's any love for Roughead at this early part of the year? Haven't seen many preseason games this year, but saw that he kicked a bag against the tigers. He doesn't seem to appear in many teams, just like last year. Any reasons?
At the moment, his in my forward line and he can be my mpp with Cox who is my lead ruck. Thoughts?

Absolute gun who will only get better.  Not in my side for structure purposes but a great selection nontheless.

Not for me, he scores well as a ruckman but won't play much ruck this year so he becomes another key forward that relies ona bag of goals to score well

colmullet

he's in for me, is a gun

The word was that he will be used at CHB as well as up forward this year, and with Suckling gone that makes even more sense.  Have him and Cox up forward and Ryder in the ruck and they can rotate if need be. He is a true key position player and even though he costs a little bit more my feeling is that he will outscore the likes of Martin, Wright and Robinson etc., none of whom have given any indication that they've improved very much from last year.

I agree with this.  But Suckling isnt a tall and his injury will have no bearing on Roughead's scoring or playing role/position

colmullet

Roughie will score wherever he plays, he's not just a marking tall forward, he is probably the best tall at ground level and in congestion, has great hands and awareness and gets in and lays tackles aswell

Seems good value when compared to Ryder, McEvoy and Jacobs so yeah, why not?
