yeah I know, I normally don't do any x2/x.5 stuff in the scores to avoid clutter and so I can see how everybody scored.

Still scored better OOP than who would've played instead of him- Tom Williams :P

Review
Very good for the third consecutive week! A few very poor parts (Fletcher 44, Jenkins 21, having to play Vlastuin OOP) soured what could have been a very nice score, but we'll happily accept 147 and a heavy 10 goal victory, which will very much boost our percentage. Lynden Dunn and Heath Shaw were superb down back in both limiting the impact of their forwards and rebounding from defence, and co-captain Callan Ward stood up when needed to continue his stunning form. Young pies Seedsman and Thomas were decent and should keep their spots in the side, despite strong contention from returning players such as the rested Zac Clarke and swingman James Frawley. Steven May and Clarke should expect call-ups next week when we take on Tokyo in Japan. In addition, the reserves had a very nice 27 point victory over the previous undefeated (9-0) Mumbai elephants!

Review
Yet another magnificent display by a rampaging Spetsnaz side who look to grab a top four spot. Next week will be tough- Cairo are in dominant form- but the five matches afterwards will be expected victories. Lynden Dunn superb again in a best-on-ground display, and Nic Nat has stayed on form, with the usual suspects in Wardo, Dys and Heater claiming the other best and fairest votes (see next post). Sam Docherty was the only real disappointment with 44, although it can be forgiven a good start to his Spetsnaz career (61, 100, 76, 102, 85)- a reserves break could help him out. Youngsters Seedsy and JT were good as always in the 80s, and Zac Clarke was acceptable in his return from a rest. Both captains also scored over 115, a magnificent performance for us! Scores of 160, 147, 153, and 156 over the past month have left us coaches very pleased, especially seeing as the majority of the side is very young- average age of the side is 23, and that's with 25-year-old Jenkins playing over the preferred 19-year-old Hogan.

Best and Fairest Update

Wardo steaming ahead, has polled in 7 straight matches! Absolute superstar! Dys has been good but not good enough, surely, with 6 games left, he won't make up the ground? Lynden Dunn has polled the maximum 10 votes two straight games to leapfrog the competition into third- he's been probably our recruit of the year, averaging 98. Jaeger continues to impress in his youth, while Heath Shaw has kept up his usual reliance down back. Nic Nat has stormed back into form in the last few matches with 142, 116 and 113 to pressure the players above him.

19. Lynden Dunn
17. Jaeger O'Meara

Love Ward

I can't believe how ballistic he has gone! 115 average is about 10 more than my highest hope for him, and at only 24 he'll only get better. 7 straight tons and counting.

Dunn and pick ~31 for Higgins and Sexton was a great trade for me (and a probable win for them too, with Higgins not missing a game). He's even better than Heath Shaw!

Did not expect Dunn to get so good!

Higgins has been handy, but I think I could do with a defender a bit more at this point. Sexton's so far looked a bit more promising than pick 31 too.

Very average again, luckily it was enough to scrape the win. Dys was outstanding as always despite being ripped off by CD, and Ceglar was great as the incoming sub. Better get better quick.

Much better, good to rebound over the 150 mark. Hombsch and Monfries the only let downs, Hombschy will be excluded next week while Gus will have to shape up or ship out. Heater, Nic Nat and Joshy Thomas didn't take the field this week, which will add a lot to the team next week. Cal Sinclair could've and should've gotten another game, but was screwed over again  >:(

Ward continues his dominance, his lead over Dys the same as it was 3 weeks ago. With 3 regular season and 1-4 finals games remaining, Heppell's hopes are fading. If we were to play in two finals, Dys would need to make up 3 votes per week on Ward- highly unlikely. Jaeger keeps pressing, while Dunn and Shaw's super defence showings have them well placed.

Tom Williams - We Hardly Knew Ye

In an emotional day for the club, long-time Spetsnaz member Tom Williams has announced his immediate footballing retirement. After being drafted into Russia with pick number 587 (round 33), the injury-plagued forward played 12 reserves games at an average of 53.17, coming close to senior selection on occasion. A very popular and well respected member of the team, Williams will become an assistant coach for the U18 side, effective following this current season.

"I am proud of my career, and although it was met with some frustrating periods with injury, I can take away countless positives. I thank the club, my team-mates and our supporters for their patience and support over the years and I look forward to seeing the exciting future of the Moscow Spetsnaz unfold."
-Williams

"The attitude shown to his football has been exemplary, particularly through periods of injury rehabilitation - and his leadership to our developing team has been invaluable,"
-Captain Ryan Griffen

Heath Shaw hurts Moscow a little.  Might return for finals

Bleeding to the brain sounds awful, we'll be allocating all the medical staff we can to him in order to get him right by finals.
