Jukes you don't get Ward's score. He got subbed off in the first half.

Jukes

So he scored 92sc in one half? Shiiit, if only he stayed on...

I just assumed that since he had 92 it was a late third/early fourth sub.

CrowsFan

Nah he got subbed off with the concussion about halfway through the second. At half time his score was 74 I think, and then SC do that weird thing where they keep increasing the guys score if they went off injured

Review
Very good rebound to three horrific losses on the trot. Shaw and Dunn were super down back, and we finally had some captain luck with Jaeger's 129. Griffen and Naitanui were far below par while Burbury, Clarke, Frawley and Dusty were shocking. Very up and down week. Fulfilled our weekly goal of a 140+ score, too. We now gain a 2 to 1 foothold in the Peace cup victories. A special notion was also passed to award a best and fairest vote each to Jack Hombsch and Josh Jenkins after both scoring very good and unexpected 105s. Heath Shaw earns 7 best and fairest votes as best on ground as opposed to the normal 5 due to winning the Jesaulenko/Pyke medal.

Looking for two-in-a-row, a loss will not be tolerated. Zac Clarke will be rested this week, turning a nightmare against a group of huge ruckmen (Out of character: Cox and Nic Nat) into hopefully a big score the next week. Last time out we recorded a 15-point win despite playing rather mediocre, with Nic Naitanui (142) starring in the ruck and Dusty Martin (118) performing well as captain. Speaking of captains, we're going with Jaeger O'Meara and Dyson Heppell as co-captains this week, who seem to be our most consistently good players at the moment (although Heath and Lynden could dispute this). A 20 year-old co-captaining with a 21 year-old, such youth! Youngster Sam Docherty could make his debut this week if a late withdrawal occurs

Two in a row baby! #weregoingtowintheleague! We managed a score of 132 despite a lot of terrible players spudding it up- Frawley, you were great early, but you're not playing next week! Nic Naitanui- Scott Lucas was right, you're an awful footballer! Lynden Dunn and Steven May- just because you two were great early doesn't mean you can slack off now! Three way tie for 3 votes, all on 95, was impressively unique. Callan was flowering awesome yet again when not-captain, already probably running away for the best and fairest, while three tons in the reserves would have hurt had we lost. Sam Docherty very good in his first game for the club at reserves-level, might knock on the door for senior selection with a few more performances like that.

Review
Three in a row and we're really on track with probably the best win of the season so far against a rather strong PNL outfit who were also 4-3 heading into this round. All four midfielders put up good performances, showing good signs for both now and the future (4 of the 5 best and fairest pollers are under 24). We're now equal with Sao Paulo for 4th spot, hopefully we can continue to compete with our young side for one of those positions. Josh Jenkins showed his potential in the seniors, while fellow youngster and off-season recruit Sam Docherty gave a huge reserves performance and can be somewhat-confident of a senior debut in the coming weeks, although the return of fellow defender Paul Seedsman could prevent this. With the top three in the B&F prior to this round polling 4, 5 and 3 votes this week, could be pulling away. Ryan Griffen's form has also been very good as he looks for a chance to go back-to-back. And, in a shocking event, we had our best player as captain for once!

Picture: a young Dyson Heppell (129 points) with much older teammate Dustin Fletcher (91)

And I'll probably be doing a mid-season player review sometime before next round :3

So yeah here's my mid-season player review. Last year I did both player and overall results, won't do that this year however as I believe most of the in-game-report reviews cover them, including my favourite,

Review
Terrible again.

Anyway, to the actual report;

2014 Mid-Season Player Review

KEY
Number. Player
Games played, average (difference from previous year- positive unless stated otherwise)
Analysis followed by season grade

1. Jaeger O'Meara (M)
8 games, 105.6 average (15.7)
This kid is a flowering jet! What more can you say! Yes he had one poor game against Melbourne and got screwed by the selection panel once, but he's been super the rest. And only 20! Could win the best and fairest this year, and will likely be a high-poller in the years to come. Still hasn't missed a game in his career, too. 10/10

2. Josh Jenkins (F)
6 games, 92.3 average (23.5)
Yet another (relatively) young gun at 25, has really benefited with Tex out of the team, and with him in the team was good too. And we basically got him for next to nothing- Hardingham, Tape and Hutchins- three unneeded players (52, 0 and 15 averages in 2014)- and picks for Simpkin and Joshy. Has had three tons (122, 105, 104) and hasn't really had the major lows of many tall forwards (63, 79, 81). Very good forward option so far for us, a position of need. 9.25/10

3. Paul Seedsman (D)
0 games
Has been missing all season with a hip injury after a very good 2013. Hopefully he can get back out there soon and rack up some more high scores. n/a

4. Dustin Martin (M/F)
8 games, 92.7 average (-9.1)
He's been solid, but not good enough. You'd want a player entering his 5th season to improve not fall by almost 10 points/game, although Richmond's floundering season hasn't helped. His problem has been mediocrity- four scores between 80 and 95, and a 61. Hopefully has a better run home as we look to finals. 5/10

5. Dyson Heppell (M)
9 games, 104.4 average (13.3)
Quite possibly as good or even better than O'Meara. If only he could get his efficiency up he'd be a superstar- 114 DT average (compared to 104 in SC). 5 scores over 110 is very nice, although his 57 was very poor, and 77 not fantastic, although both came in tough losses. 10/10

6. Angus Monfries (M/F)
5 games, 78.4 average (-12.1)
Gus' season, although slightly cruelled by a hamstring injury which caused him to miss 3 games against two easy opponents, has been below expectations. Hasn't hit the century yet in his 6 games, compared to 7 from 22 last season. 3/10

7. Zac Clarke (R)
6 games, 74.1 average (-22.1)
Not a great debut season as Zac has poorly adjusted to the freezing-cold climate. The 92, 92 and 102 have been nice- the 49 and 41 terrible, the 69 below-par. In the future- he's just 23- should provide a great 1/2 combination with Nic Nat in our ruck stock as Sandilands moves on. 3/10

8. Callan Ward
8 games, 111.3 average (14)
Cal has just taken it to the next level this season, leading the best and fairest. Although he had one 48 (as captain!), the rest of his scores have been almost (one 92 where he was subbed off in the first half) perfect, with all century scores apart from the two aforementioned. His 145 was a highlight, and he has three other scores above 120, despite the Giants' predicted low season. 10/10

9. Nic Naitanui (R)
8 games, 69.3 average (-26.9)
114 average in 2012. 96 average in 2013. Not even 70 in 2014. Simply pathetic by what is supposed to be our "star ruckman". His 104 and 107 were acceptable- the rest of his scores were not, reaching a top of 73, including two 50's and a 27. Better improve- or else. 1/10

10. Sam Docherty (D)
2 games, 80.5 average (27.7)
Although he has only played two games in Moscow colours, both in the reserves, Docherty has already made a very promising start to his Russian career, highlighted by a great century in his second match after an adequate 61 in his debut outing. Future starting backman, probably. 7/10

11. Lynden Dunn (D)
9 games, 84.8 average (2.5)
Was having a great season, averaging 92.5 up until three weeks ago, since which he has scored 65, 75 and 78. The week prior to this, he had a great 133. Very acceptable second backman. 7.75/10

12. Tom Williams (F)
5 games, 51.6 average (7.6)
Arguably the least skilled and talented player on the list, although Nic Naitanui is a challenger, he's been giving his all in the reserves so far this season in an attempt to find a path into a sniff of senior action, which unfortunately most likely won't happen, unless the plague resurfaces in Moscow or all players except him are forced to fight the Ukraine. Perseverance is key for Tom. 3/10

13. Nick Vlastuin (D/M)
8 games, 68.3 average (-6.8)
It's been second-year blues for Flossy as his form has been hit by a string of 70s and a concussed 17 (without this sub his average is almost 76). A high score of 91 and only one other score over 80 isn't inspiring, but it's only his second year and he's a long-term prospect. 4/10

14. James Frawley (D/F)
8 games, 76.8 average (9.3)
A season of extreme ups-and-downs for James as his move up forward has worked somewhat. 131, 101 and 96 were certainly highlights- 24, 42 and 66 were not. Quality player and has future with this organisation. 7.5/10

15. Jack Hombsch (D)
7 games, 73.1 average (-3.4)
Had a great 105 and good 91, but other than that it's been slim pickings so far this season. Has a good future, just had to realise this. 6.75/10

16. Ryan Griffen (M)
7 games, 87.7 average (-28.5)
Very lacklustre season for the reigning Best-and-Fairest winner, although he has certainly got better after starting the season with a 63 and 49- averaging over 100 without these, although that still isn't quite good enough. Expect much better in the second half of the season. 6/10

17. Martin Clarke (D)
1 game, 47 average (-19.8)
Was never going to come close to senior selection to be honest no matter how many games he played, well and truly a supportive character around the club and to lure Irish fans away from Dublin, which has worked- our away supporter group in Dublin is the largest of any club has away from home. 1/10

18. Alex Pearce (D)
0 games
Still hasn't made an appearance. Has talent but has got to impress more to work his way from the minor leagues into the reserves.

19. Jonathon Simpkin (M)
7 games, 62.2 average (-6.5)
Also brought in the Jenkins trade with Pacific, very talented player who's season has been coloured green. 3 sub-affected performances really drags down his good average- scores of 84, 89, 92 and 81 without the vest. Only 23 and will look to jump when the senior players start to leave or drop in form. 7.5/10

20. Dom Sheed (M)
4 games, 32.7 average (first year)
Like Jonno has been greened several (3 out of 4) times, his highest score coming in one of these vested-games (52), with the unsubbed game being a 41 in a heavy loss. Very talented and a name to remember. 6/10

21. Tom Lee (F)
0 games
Still hasn't made an appearance which is ridiculous, very good player who surely has a future with us.

22. Callum Sinclair (R)
3 games, 57.6 average (-7)
Brad Hodge, eat your heart out. Has been on fire in the minor leagues, averaging 101.5 DT per match, but the selector's aren't giving him a chance. Will be a great support act to Nic Nat and Clarke in the future, maybe even lining up as a permanent utility with Clarke. A confusing choice to select  former-captain Darren Glass for a uni leadership essay (true story) over his real captains in Griff/Dys/Jaeger was confusing. 6.5/10

23. Jesse Hogan (F)
0 games
The future GOAT has been struggling with back injuries so far this season so hasn't made any impact at any level, surely a walk-up starter when he returns. Super young player who is the future face of our franchise.

24. Josh Thomas (M)
4 games, 55.5 average (-23.4)
Another player who was hard-done-by by the selectors, has missed half of his games and 2 of his 4 appearances were vest-affected. Averaging 70 without the vest, which is less than what we desire, although still very young and can and will force his away into a starting midfield spot in the future. 5/10

25. Blayne Wilson (D)
0 games
idek why we traded for this guy

26. Matthew Fuller (D)
0 games
Selectors haven't brought him in from the minor leagues as of yet, has talent but needs to work harder.

27. Steven May (D/F)
8 games, 78.1 average (19.4)
Has been very good so far this season as a swing back and forward player. Although his last two matches, although impressive performance-wise (kept Black and Riewoldt to 1 and 2 goals respectively), did not produce the points after a great start, where he scored 98 and 122 to kick off the season, then four solid scores between 70 and 81. Only 21 and is a gun player of the future. 9/10

28. Tyrone Vickery (F)
6 games, 72.3 average (-7.6)
Very good season from Tyrone, if you exclude his sub-affected 25, without which takes his average up to 82. Two strong 100s and another 80 makes up for a couple of 60s. Looks all the goods to be a best-four forward, and is only 24. 8/10

29. Tom Barrass (D)
0 games
Has played four minor league games for an average of just 48.25, although has suffered from injury. Could be a solid future prospect.

30. Sam Colquhoun (D/M)
0 games
Also a talented youngster who will not play this season, after 8 games in 2013, with a knee injury. Watch out for him in the future.

31. Dustin Fletcher (D)
8 games, 88.7 average (23)
The 39-year-old veteran has, as you have surely heard before, shown no signs of slowing down as he surges towards 400 games. Has two big 100s, 110 and 131, plus another score in the 90s and two more 80s for a very healthy average of almost 90 that puts him just about in the best four backs. 10/10

32. Jackson Allen (D)
0 games
After 4 games in the reserves through the last two seasons, Allen has continued to languish in the minor leagues and shows little promise to be a future established player. Still only 21, though.

33. Sam Menegola (F)
0 games
Only the four minor league matches this season, for an average of just 71 (DT) points. Can't see any future for Sam in this franchise.

34. David Ellard (M)
6 games, 69 average (23.7)
After picking David up with pick 82 of the International Draft, recycling from Pacific, he got off to the best possible start with a big 120 in a surprise senior-selection in round 1. His form has been ordinary since, with only two scores over 60- 67 and 79. Turned 25 in March and should have a future here. 8.5/10

35. Fraser McInnes (F)
0 games
The 20-year-old hasn't made any WXV or Reserve appearances this season, but has played all 8 games in the minor leagues, collecting an average of 66.4. Will have to improve quickly to avoid being delisted.

37. Luke Tapscott (F)
Also hasn't made any WXV or Reserves appearances, his 4 minor league performances being adequate after an injury spell (knee and hamstring). Nearing full match fitness.

39. Heath Shaw (D)
7 games, 94.6 average (-2.2)
Heath is having yet another strong season, with two big 100s (110 and 134) and mostly solid performances down back. Turns 29 in November, still has several years of strong performances left. 8.5/10

44. Corey Gault (R)
0 games
Had played 4 minor league games before breaking his collarbone. Only 21 and could be a solid player in the future.

45. George Burbury (F)
5 games, 52.6 average (-4.4)
Burbs has performed alright as a forward depth player, filling in the seniors where required for mediocre results. Had a solid 77 in round 4, but scored between 43 and 49 in his other 4 games. Turns 22 in June and should keep his place in the squad. 6/10

47. Jonathon Ceglar (R)
2 games, 62 average (15)
Scores of 81 and 43 in the reserves were solid for the 23 year-old, and has 5 minor league appearances for good results. Had 49 hitouts one week, outperformed Maric and Stephenson (Mexico City and Cairo, respectively) another week, and has general been in control in his games. Good signs for our ruck depth. 6/10

48. Caolan Mooney (M)
0 games
The Irishman hasn't added to his 6 career games this season, instead playing 8 minor league matches for modest success. Good some weeks, quiet the rest. Might be culled at the end of the season.

Pretty darn good despite the four goal loss. Dochers tonned up in his Moscow debut, great effort by him. Fletch just keeps getting better with 120, and Wardy scored very high as co-captain, although the rest of the midfield didn't hold their end (66, 70, 93). Joshy Thomas was great with 113, the same score Nic Nat picked up in a hopeful return to form. Hombschy was great in the reserves, while Seedsy had a good return to Spetsnaz footy despite having limited time on ground.

ossie85

Frawley half points jukes. He is a defender
