whats your preferred strategy and layout jayman?

i have been playing with a 2-5-1-5 premium layout but i think with heppells performances this nab i might have to get him in for a fwd.. fwd rookies are just so shizen this year though..

i like a GnR strategy but i think mid pricers might come into play. whats your take on it all?
Right now, I am sitting with a 3-5-1-4 premium layout (450k+ = premo)

So not dissimilar to yours just have a safer backline but not as much firepower up forward

I just cant see a 2 premium backline working as although good, the rookies are not all going to be great scorers - think we are over-rating them a bit.

My mid-pricers are Atley, Leuey and Karnezis atm :)

And in regards to fwd rookies, yes they are not as good as previous years, I still see some value in the likes of Macaffer, Lee, Neade and Paparone - assess who is named round 1

Sorry Jay, I'm hogging your advice here but I've got one more :P:

Seeing as you're a big advocate of Paddy D,
Pendles or Dangerfield?
haha all good mate :P

I still take Pendles in that battle mate, more consistency and can still pump out the 140s that Danger can - that's an easy one mate ;)

Scotty T instead of Danger for a pod?
In DT, yes! But not the same for SuperCoach... Thommo annoys me with his 30 disposal games where he only gets say 105. Really needs to rack up the possessions to get a quality score. Also is like our oldest mid and will only decline.

Hmm tough one. What about going Dusty and Byrnes and spending the cash elsewhere?

Of the 2 options I have to say Roughy and Byrnes. I see JJK and Byrnes pretty equal and Roughy is a much safer pick than Dusty/Wright - although both have the potential to equal Roughy

So yeah, for now go Roughy and Byrnes :)

colmullet

with the lack of forward rookies, is running say JJK, Varcoe and Byrnes at F4,5,6 a decent option or a little bit to risky?

Hmm a little risky yes, but could pay off.

Would prefer to see Jenkins there instead of JJK/Byrnes, but that is just my opinion.

If you are going to pick 3 fwd mid-pricers I would go Jenkins, Karnezis, Varcoe but they are all fairly similar

Bit hard to gauge without knowing your other lines, but go for it mate! :D

What do you think of Pavlich Jayman? I know he's had some surgery over the preseason, and only just playing his first game this weekend, but the guy is a superstar and surely can still perform well. Once the Dockers got used to Ross Lyon's game plan in the second half of last year he absolutely destroyed it. Worth starting with him as a POD? If he looks okay against the Dogs tomorrow surely you'd have to consider him, even with the restricted preseason.

Thoughts on Rory Sloane Jayman?? He's currently my M5 as a POD. Would u prefer someone else for the same price?

An while we're at it..... Nathan Lyon or Xavier Doherty?? Haha  ;)

I think Pavlich is a SC gun! But I think he will come down in price at some stage, I mean he will have some niggles and let's face it, he is getting old!

Monitor his fitness tomorrow, but he is an upgrade target for me atm.

ROK came home like a steam train last year and I think he is under priced. Do you rate him as a mid smokey this year?

Great pick mate! My M5 is Mundy and that looks set to stay, but if I had the extra cash, would love Sloane. He is a ripper pick around that price range. Hopefully he can turn super premo :D

Yeah I think he is under priced. Good pick - but wont be getting a gig in my midfield seeing as I already have JPK and really want to get KJack in there.
