My first Ask Jayman for 2013! If you remember from last year I answer any of your SC questions ASAP, and also try to give my reasoning when doing so. Similar to what ziplock does in the DT board

example: Danger vs. Cotchin? I would reply with Danger as I feel he has the ability to be able to crack 140s and win you league games

Not expecting this thread to go huge but if I can at least help a couple of people, will be worth it :)

I actually have Karnezis in my team, he is more unique than the likes of Varcoe and Byrnes. He seems to be fitting into that midfield role well and is a very good pick. I'm sure I will switch between him and Varcoe until Round 1 as I see both having great seasons. Maybe ask Lions expert, Ringo for his thoughts on him.

Chris Newman is an interesting one. If he works his way into the Tiges midfield then he will improve his average from 2012 but I see Atley and even Yarran as better picks around the same price. I am just not convinced he will get enough mid time with Cotch, Lids, Grigg, Dusty, Conca etc.

Gotta be Heppell there mate. He is only 450k and is entering his prime. Watts is probably the next best on that list but would prefer Hepp. Rance is too defensive for mine and Hibberd is quite injury prone

Get around Heppell 8)

Both are locks IMO. I see them both getting regular games in Port's 22. Pittard is probably more of a must-have but considering how weak the fwd rookies are, you would be crazy not too have Neade as well. Although I am not sure Neade will be a great scorer, he will still be worth it as will play the majority of games. Pittard however I see as a good SC scorer, but times will tell :)

Which combo:
1. Hartlett, Pittard, L Brown, JPK, Franklin
2. Broughton, Yarran, Colquhoun, Danger, Wright

Cheers MC :)

I would go Heppell and Fyfe if $$$ allow. Broughts is on my never again list and I still have doubts over his role in the Suns side. Hepp I see as a safer option with the same ceiling.

I really like the DanHan pick but Fyfe is just too good to pass up. Fyfe has the ability to become a 600k player and to get him at 500k will prove to be a steal. Only doubt is how he will cope with a tag, so D-Han might in fact be the safer pick but can't pass up the class of Fyfe though

I tend to agree with you there. Cheers man!

Hartlett beats Broughton by a fair way IMO. I say Hamish as one of the best backs for 2013 especially now we have 30 trades so if he does cop an injury he is a straight-swap to a Birchall, Hanley etc

Yarran obvioulsy beats Pittard. He has the much higher scoring potential - have you considered Atley?

I dont like S-Col's chances of getting a regular game, just too skinny. However Brown is ready to slip straight into Doughty's role - worth the extra $$$

JPK and Danger are pretty well even - maybe JPK slightly edges him due to bye and ability to not drop under 100

Franklin beats Wright. But I wouldnt be starting with Buddy, I see him dropping in price as he deals with a tough early draw. Whereas Wright is ready to go boom!

In saying all that I think the first option is the best mainly due to the quality of premiums

whats your preferred strategy and layout jayman?

i have been playing with a 2-5-1-5 premium layout but i think with heppells performances this nab i might have to get him in for a fwd.. fwd rookies are just so shizen this year though..

i like a GnR strategy but i think mid pricers might come into play. whats your take on it all?

My Chumps

Sorry Jay, I'm hogging your advice here but I've got one more :P:

Seeing as you're a big advocate of Paddy D,
Pendles or Dangerfield?
