What does everybody think of luey as R1 and then having three rookies? Could it work?

Dazzler1536

Not for me. If you do this you might be stuck with just leuey on the track for a most weeks imo but in saying that it allows more money and better players across the field

Grazz

Its a nice idea in theory because of the extra cash that it Free's up but in reality you'll bleed a lot of points to those that go with a prem in R1. You may not have a R2 rookie playing any given week and when they are playing they wont be scoring great anyway. The money saved wont get you a prem mid that can compensate the point loss imo. Could work for just a league win but early losses should be expected and you'll need to come home pretty well to make sure of a top 8 spot. Very gutsy move, best of luck if you do have a crack at it, i haven't got the umpa lumpas to do it. :)

This has potential to work if currie cn prove his worth with out goldy in the side. It seems to me the kangas are always keen to have someone leap frog goldy as their number 1 ruck, no matter how good he plays as their no 1 ruck man.

Could take currie as r2 with Sam Rowe on the bench and big cox in the forward line as insurance. But you'd want to have solid forward line rookies because they would be called upon if the currie experiment doesn't work and ya have to throw cox into the ruck.

High risk but possibly high reward. Will be very interesting to see how currie goes this week

This is exactly how I've set my team up thus far. Have Cox up forward with Sam Rowe on ruck bench. If Currie does half decent it will allow me to have pretty much 5 uber premo mids and 5 premo fwds. At worst, Cox jumps to rucks and 2 of my 3 fwd rookies are called onto the field.

Agreed youd certainly want Cox in the Fwd's as insurance just in case. Goodluck to you braver than me so all the best to you.

dunnie

Last year the 5 best rucks outscored the best forwards bar Franklin. If you want points get a premo ruck. I do agree however that leuey is hard to pass up at that price.

Haha hope he can let us in on who two of them are, Macafer would be the only one i have any confidence in at the minute so 2 would be a great help.

Joe Daniher?

Have him at F7 but no certainty of starting really is he. Wish he was. Sadly not named this weekend either. :(

bottlemart

Yes very thin on fwd rookies.

Macaffer,
Neade, if he gets a game

Romulus and BigJim are on the money though.  I don't mind that ruck set up with coxy there as insurance.

Last year it worked well with Giles as R2, and currie has looked very good so far.  He's mature aged and has had 2 excellent seasons in the NEAFL and SANFL.

2 rucks don't work at north, and it's touch and go, but Currie may be in front of goldy at the minute.

quinny88

Currie and Goldy won't play in the same team so this is not a realistic option at all unless Goldy gets injured

Romulus

yeah haven't cemented fwd rooks with Macaffer the only one needed on field if Currie going well. Neade possibly and then who knows maybe Kerridge, see how he goes this weekend. Dunnie may be right with the rucks outscoring the fwds last year but I will have Cox, it also allows a bigger midfield budget where the big boys score and it means only Macaffer on field up fwd.

As long as you are of the thinking that Currie will outscore your likely forward rookies you cant go wrong.
