Has anybody heard any news on Nathan Vardy? He is very important to my team structure. Will he be right for round 1.

Artax

Thought he was still recovering from injury?

Mr.Craig

If he's critical to your structure then I'd suggest reviewing it.

I won't go into much detail. I have 2 mid-priced ruckman (Vardy is one of them). So I can spend the cash on players on the other 3 lines. There is not much point wasting cash on a mediocre ruckman who averages 70 points per game and doesnt have high points to dollar value. If I spend the money on midfield I get a better cash return.  :)

Noz

His my second ruckman right now this is what I've heard

He suffered a slight setback and could be in doubt for round 1.

Artax

I'd look for another ruck in that case. Can't see him being ripe round 1 nor being a lock all year with HMac & West in the mix too

Noz

I heard they will be making Vardy a key forward but with the rise of Kersten I don't know if that will still happen.

I'm a Geelong supporter and no way would he be in my team. Needs to string more than a 2-3 games together for starters. Has fragility issues like all Geelong talls atm.

Windigo

I see no reason to pick him. Hasn't played NAB. Not a dominant scorer yet.  :-\

Ricochet

Yeh I won't be going near him

Two of Geelong's other injured ruckmen, Nathan Vardy and Hamish McIntosh, have also stepped up their training loads in recent days.

"I was in there (on Monday) and there was only one of our ruckmen who was not running, and that was big Dawson Simpson, who has had back surgery," Cats skipper Joel Selwood said.

"But the rest of them are up, to a degree, to where they need to be.

"We'd really like them to all be available for round one.

"I think Westy's going to be thereabouts, but with Hamish and Nathan we're just going to take our time, and we won't put a round on it because they'll play when they're ready."
