Ok so i think your asking who to pick out of these 2.
Over the last 2 years Shaw has played 32 games at an average of 100.7, Birchall has played 41 games at an average of 94.3
Neither look to be having a change in job role and neither team has recruited anyone who should impact their scoring significantly.
At the age of 28 for Shaw and 25 for Birchall they are both relatively in their prime possibly Birchall with a bit more room for improvement.

With all of this taken into account and the fact Birchall is about 35k cheaper than Shaw he gets my vote. The big impact for me is the consistency of Birchall with a bit more room for improvment over Shaw. That being said they are both great players and picking either will do your team no harm.

I would go Birchall as  Shaw is not likely to play a full season as he always does something stupid.

This is a very similar question to Birchall and Shaw. Simply put, Birchall scores well ultra consistently. Hartlett is prone to injury but has a much higher ceiling, can score 120+ in games. If you have chosen a team with few risks Hartlett is your man similarly if you have already made some risky picks grab Birchall.

Birchill would be my choice all the way.  The arrival of Lake should allow him more freedom.

If i had to pick out of the 2 I would go Shaw. Really strong pre season and Birchall has had an interrupted pre season
