AN interchange cap for the 2014 AFL season is coming so stop complaining about it.

That's the emphatic message from AFL boss Andrew Demetriou to the league's senior coaches following widespread condemnation of the interchange cap, which has proved a sour point for clubs during the NAB Cup.

tbagrocks

Hopefully the flower pot will be sacked by then

Ringo

At least they have left negotiation on the Number of Interchanges Cap.  Think to take unlimited straight to 80 is a bit much,  Maybe 120 to start with and then review each year.

More work for the interchange stewards at the AFL and clubs to monitor number of changes.

Hawka

80s a joke if its over 100 il be fine with it

Ziplock

yeah, it'll be a dog to keep track of.

I still don't know why a cap is needed :/

Capper

It will Suck.

What happens if there is a hot day in Perth and the 80 are used up by 3/4 time whilst in cold Melbourne the 80 wouldnt all get used.

Do you go to many games Os? It looks a bit different when you're at the game live and the game is just turning into under 10's where every player chases the ball all over the entire ground. It's to fatigue players so some of the forwards stay at home and cause less congestion around the ground. Makes sense.

I actually like the rule. We currently have 6 forwards who run all over the ground. It's not uncommon to see Cloke push up and take a mark on the half back flank. Wouldn't see Gary Ablett snr doing that shower. Or Modra. Or Dunstall. Or Lockett. We'll see the return of genuine full forwards who play the whole game, and rarely leave the F50.

Swan running his guts out and covering the entire length of the ground, gaining 10m on his opponent and taking an uncontested mark in the goal square because he knows he can go off for a rest after it
vs
a tired midfielder who can't be flowered running that far bombing it in so Gary Ablett can take a mark on Gary Pert's head.

AFL is a winter sport and was never meant to be played in 30 degree weather. WA teams shouldn't ever get home games during the daylight hours.

Coaches are saying that it will encourage flooding but that is a load of shower. Collingwood's forward press would defeat the flood. If teams want to drop players back, they'll just get manned up and then the game will be played in Collingwood's forward line since that's where every player is. Opposition might try to score on the fast break but Maxwell sets up and stops it more often than not.

I reckon this guy is fat. He is oppossed to more running, and doesn't like hot days. Ease up on the donuts champ and learn a bit more about football.

Yeh they shouldnt but I can still see teams use more interchanges during warmer weather rather than cooler weather. Or more interchanges will be used during the day whilst the sun is out rather than at night

Football is just turning into a sprinting game. You don't need skill, you just have to be able to run these days.

Troll somewhere else dickhead.
