My team is in the first post. I'm still deciding on D3,M4,M5,M6.

So it's

Goddard,Gibbs,?,Yarran,Goodes,Pittard  (Terlich,Brown)
Ablett,Pendles,Watson,?,?,?,Wines,O'Maera  (Crouch,Viney)
Mummy,Leuy (Rowe,Witts)
Cox,Zorko,Bartel,Martin,Varcoe,Byrnes/rookie  (Lee,Neade)

Cheers.

Ringo

D3 - Birhill, Duffield or Hanley
With mids not sure of cash you have suspe
M4, JJ Kennedy, Dangerfield, Murphy or J Watson,
M5 - Moloney, Embley or Ball if you can not get another prem from above
M6 - Would go a rookie J Lonergan.

Or maybe

Def - add Newman / Suckling / Heppell
Mids - add Cotchin / Ball / Colquhoun
Fwd - add Buddy

If you pick Heppell - round 13 could be tough.

How confident are you in mummy? personally, i think Pike will have a lot of the ruck duties. I'm trying to free up a little bit of cash to get Danger in the mids, thinking of bringing mummy in, particularly with the early sydney fixtures

Yes I'm worried about Pyke - he really has improved and without Tippett will play lots of ruck/fwd. But Mummy is a calculated risk. He is so cheap for what he can do and helps me to stack my mids and fwds. Swans have easy draw and he is capable of kicking a few and taking some grabs up forward. The next best ruckman in the AFL besides Nic/Nat,Cox and Sandilands.

What about this ?

GODDARD,GIBBS,YARRAN,Goodes,Pittard,Brown  (Terlich,Stevenson)

ABLETT,PENDLES,WATSON,JPK,FYFE,Moloney,Wines,Crouch (Viney,O'Maera)

MUMFORD,Leuy  (Currie,Rowe)

COX,BARTEL,ZORKO,MARTIN,Varcoe,Byrnes  (Lee,Neade)

Strong mids, Weak backs, Solid fwds., Budget Rucks with great scoring potential. ALL DEPENDS on what rookies are playing. If there are enough back rookies I think I will run with a team similar to this.

I would grab Shaw and Pav as first upgrades.

Def: Yarran is the key here to whether or not this backline will work.
Mid: Very strong. Do 4 rookie mids give you enough money making capability?
Rucks: Not sold here. Mummy may go bang, but he may also get injured. We are all taking a risk with Leuenberger as it is, so I would prefer to see a less injury prone plaeyr at R1
Fwds:Very strongas they stand.

Overall: Maybe look at the money you have invested in the Moloney/Mumford/Bartel/Yarran combo, and have a play around with different options.

I think the following are quite risky picks

Yarran
Fyfe
Moloney
Mumford
Bartel
Martin
Byrnes

But you need to take risks to do really well.

I would downgrade one of your mids eg Fyfe and shore up your defence and fwd lines.

Good luck.

Cheers again mate. I have weak backs on purpose. The points are in the midfield and every year the top teams at the start have stacked mids. I will prob go Mundy now Fyfe has done a shoulder again. Having a Mundy/Fyfe is better points AND value than a Shaw/Birchall. Moloney is a bargain for a clearance player at an improving club. As long as the back rookies play it shouldn't matter. Every other year we've only had 4 mid rookies (and 4 prems) anyway.

Yarran is value, Bartel is a superstar but yes Mumford and Martin are on shaky ground ATM.

By the way, each and every one of those players listed has made a brief appearance in my team I've the last few weeks.

Not sure the new ruck rules will help Mumford, Think he's more bash and crash rather than a huge leaper. Have considered him though. I've had Dusty Martin in my team but after yesterdays game he's now out. Not prepared for the Dusty rollercoaster again after last season.

New team please advise -

GODDARD,GIBBS,YARRAN,Goodes,Terlich,Stevenson  (Pittard,Brown)

ABLETT,PENDLES,WATSON,JPK,FYFE,Moloney,Viney,Wines  (O'Maera,Crouch)

Jamar,Smith  (Currie,Rowe)

COX,BARTEL,ZORKO,MARTIN,Varcoe,Byrnes  (McCaffer,Neade)

NOt sure at all on Jamar - No.1 ruck isn't he? Is he injured? LOL Can't find a decent ruck combo with no Leuy and I don't want to compromise my mids. 24 k left.

My value picks that will score well for their price and rise in value are - Yarran,Smith,Fyfe,Moloney,Varcoe,Byrnes.  :)

P.S These guys just missed out - Christenson,Grimes,Hanley,Selwood,Mundy

Solid team

Strong Mids and Fwds just a concern with Yarran at D3 - Would prefer at D4 but if he performs as he did last night will be a keeper.  Can be inconsistent at times though.

Rucks a risk but you have to take a risk.  Jamar should be No 1 at dees but have not heard anything differently so maybe a POD early to rise in value.
Mids I think are too strong with Moloney at 6 Maybe downgrade him to Mitchell  and use cash to get a prem ruck.  Only a suggestion.  Mid rookies tend to fatten quicker which is why i suggested it.
