Richard Tambling-$208,100
Age-26

What is the current status on Richard Tabmbling?
People may forget he averaged 89 from 20 games back in 2009 and struggled to get games after a huge slump in 2010.
Since Michael Doughty retired last year, there's a spot for Tambling you would think. I dunno...which is why im on here.

Any knowledge regarding Tambling and his current status as a best 22 for Adelaide Crows would be much appreciated. Post below and share your thoughts with everyone  :) :)

I cant remember where I heard it from but I think Adelaide were quoted saying that the team they brought down to Geelong on the weekend was going to be close to, if not, there best 22 for this year..

I dont know if anyone can shed any light on this or not..

I would say there would be a few young guys who probably played who won't be in the team. I see a role for him but I dont know how secure that role is for him

In all seriousness, there is a spot available with Doughty retiring and the Bling is in with a chance of getting it. Averaged 76 in the SANFL and won his clubs B & F.

I think Sando said he wants all his players top play two games in the preseason. Look for him next week...Hopefully.

I remember reading that he was actually rested for the game on the weekend, so still in the mix to make the best 22.

If he plays well next week and gets named round 1, I reckon i would be locking him in!

too many good option down back

goddard gibbs grimes hartlett heppell all pushing for selection, I want all 5 but im struggling to fit even 4 in with the likes of tambling stevenson pittard terlich goodes.

even though i think tamlbing is a pretty good pick, he will have to be a great pick to push out some of those other guys for the extra cash.

Agree, and as much as there are alot of good cheap, rookie backs this year with good JS I don't think too many have a very high ceiling, where as I can see Tambling (providing everything goes well) pushing 80+ this year as apposed to 60+ like I believe the rest will average. So is the 80k worth the extra 15-20 points?

Hahaha yep... Definately better then Buddy ;) Well I think Sando what's to boof him so I think he'll get a fair crack at it this year.

Crows don't have a trial match this week because they're playing next weekend...

For what it's worth though, last I heard he was struggling with a back niggle, and The Advertiser (Adelaide's paper) did a report on some of the battles for positions going on at the crows and it had Tambling vs Brown for Doughty's old spot saying that Brown was comfortably ahead at this stage :-\

Mr.Craig

He's playing in an SANFL trial this weekend along with a bunch of other fringe Crows.

Sando said on 5AA he wanted him last week to have another look at him, he likes his pace and wants him as an outside player, he'll be in the mix for a start next week
